Didn't realize the speakers were old Tannoys in the Zeiler room...sound was not bad there...if you have the time,
spice up your listening experiance
Go to „Zeiler“, a small tube amp company.
They Demo their stuff with some original old Tannoy studio speakers, which were used to record and mix Bob Marley and Queen records.
This might give you a „natural“ vintage type of listening start into the day. Close by you can find the Spanish „Admire audio“ and their interpretation of the Western Electric Horn sound.
A nice sounding German Horn speaker can be found in front of MOC/hall4, if you walk a little left the street. Martion (horns), Schick (tonearms) and Consolidated Audio (step ups) do share some rooms in an automotive service building.
In front of MOC the shuttle bus can bring you to Hifi Deluxe, as the JMF 500 Horns from France are the potential final step on this „tour de exotique horn“
Same floor at Hifi Deluxe you can listen to new Gryphon amps, Wadax Dac and Server and the top of the line Spanish Kroma Speakers, also one of the best Demoes in Munich this year.
Didn't find the bass in Dartzeel/Stenheim to be in anyway excessive... Thought that was one of the more musical rooms with SS. The only Wilson setup I liked at least a bit...possibly because they were playing Tool when I went in, was with D'Agostino momentums and new DCS stuff, which was at least ballsy sounding. The excesive bass in the stenheim dartzeel room was annoying.
I d like to hear those amps on another speaker in a well set up room
Also i went back to the CH / rockport room and guess what no music just talk.
I ll go back tomorrow one more time and thats it
Sad I missed Martions…if you have the time,
spice up your listening experiance

Well, the MBL IS special….nothing else sounds like that; however, I always hear a metallic edge with all MBL setups that I can’t seem to unhear. My wife loves the spaciousness they create though and that is Perfect for some listeners.I couldn’t agree more on Kharma.....it was a letdown having had high expectations to begin with. MBL was ok, nothing special in my view.
Yes, but main Wadax room was with Reference Server, DAC, new Ref. PSU, Atlantis X Transport, Audio Research and Wilson Benesch Eminence. And the sound was better, even if I generally much prefer Kharma speakers to Wilson Benesch. And I'm not a tube fan too, but I have to admit that the sound Javier got there was very good. This Wadax room was also the only one using the new Reference PSU at the show.It is a shared room by both.
Avaton is even thicker!Andromeda speakercable .
The best ....and the thickest
Sounded “ok” but shameless aping their previous employers designs (meaning Tannoy) irritated some people I was hanging out with.Curious if anyone attending got to hear these new Fyne "vintage" speakers:
Fyne Vintage speakers promise retro looks and cutting-edge technology
Looking back and yet moving forwards, the Fyne Vintage might just be the biggest retro speaker range yetwww.whathifi.com
It was dynamic and soundstage was huge. Bass was powerful but pretty well balanced. Images were, as usual oversized and tone was not wholly natural, which I think comes down to the electronics because I have heard AGs do tone very nicely with Thomas Mayer or Audiopax amps.I would like to hear opinons abouth the new Avantgarde Trio 3 speaker.
Live a mini-me version of Avaton. Sounded good on some tracks and quite poor on others, which suggests to me that it is not a very well balanced speaker that you could throw all types of music at.What speaker is Manolis Proestakis of Tune Audio showing this year? Avaton perhaps?
Is Sasa ?oki? of Trafomatic displaying the Drina anywhere?
It did sound good but lacked some jump factor…as one friend put it “too smooth”I must say i like this set up with jadis much more then the Aries cerat set up in NL
Did you like Living Voice? I thought it was sublime…Yg and living voice
You’re welcome. Thanks for the recommendation. It's an interesting perspective, working in a room. Both exhausting and exhilarating. What I am not looking forward to is repacking all that gear in the crates in such a limited time.
