DaVa FC-A1 a field coil contender

View attachment 112017

DaVa is here after a, punctual!, 6 months wait.
Had issues with the first batch, possibly due to a mishap on my end.
Got the full service from Darius. Extremely communicative and helpful. Wonderful customer service.

Now breaking-in, and sounding very promising from the first notes on my JN Lenco with the Ikeda.

you have both CH and Allnic phono?

Hi guys, I hope this isn't against the rules (if it is I apologize, mods please just delete.) I've got a FC-A1 unused for sale in the classifieds, if someone happens to be looking for one and is hoping to avoid the long wait time.

After many months of light activity on vinyl I was forced to reconfigure my main phono temporarily which gave me an opportunity to play with the DaVa again. I never really solved my hum issue from the past ........ until this week.

I installed the Klyne and fiddled with gain loading and cut off frequency then added the silver/ copper RADA sut- I ultimately had to stand the sut on its side and wrap it with some mu metal encapsulated in poly. .... and voila silence.

This thing is crazy!

No I do not. Darius was well behind and not making them for 6-8mos ( or more when I inquired)...I poked around and the RADA was an alternative. It is a 9999n silver primary and copper secondary.
Yes this is 1:40 --- it should not work but it does..... I have to double check- But I believe I have the klyne set for 37 db gain and in this case I am using the Wyetech RUBY STD preamp as an experiment and as as an alternative to my Slagle silver autoformer. My system config has been totally changed temporarily.

I am squarely in the active phono camp and not a SUT user on a regular basis. There are pros and cons to both approaches. For the DaVa there is little choice . Now that I have the DaVa working .. I will try my 70's Luxman silver torroid SUT in the the next while.

I would agree, on materials and construction alone the RADA is fabulous. What I am hearing so far---- more to come after some time--is that it is phenomenal performer as well.:)

The Rada has good full body and weight. It is very musical. They have done some upgrades since the first release, including changes to the power supply, and have some more coming. It could do with a bit more nuance but the Dava balances that well. It is extremely high value. I am interested in comparing it to Allnic 7000 (with recti roll) because the used Allnic 7000 price is the similar and can be sold off easily again.

Darius posted this today

Now i have 4 different sut’s.
1.Silver(very harmonic and trasparent sound, but to much bright)
2.Standard copper wired(full body without brightnes, less harmonic and less transparent comparing to silver.
3.Silver-copper mix on primary,secondary copper.(Transparent like silver,not bright like silver,very good sound.
4.Burned copper without enamel.(Transparent and harmonic like silver, not bright, deep like copper, winner in all sounding picture including musicality.(bloody job to wind nude wires)”

Seems Leif has the second one, and Bill the third. Losers!

I have the Precious One Silver primary/ Copper Secondary

It is amazing
