    SERVICE LAMM M1.1 IN UK

I have the UK 240 Volt variant. Serial numbers 10062 and 10063. I live in England, UK. I don't know the exact age but guess probably around 20 years old. I bought them second hand in 2019 and have used them daily since then. Never serviced but I change the valves myself as needed and do not...

Brown stains inside and outside NOS tape Boxes

I recently bought 3 outer boxes of NOS tape manufactured by Racal Zonal in September 1979. Zonal RZ. Ten reels per outer box. All sealed, unused, unopened. Two boxes were fine but one box ( ten tapes ) must have been kept in different conditions because each tape box has brown/ reddish...

That is very helpful Jonathan. I knew about the rewind and FF different speeds but had no idea you could fly the tape above the tapehead block cover. It works ! Thank you !

Spectral DMC 30SS - how to increase Tape Output Pots to Maximum ?

Yes, it is set to maximum output gain. And yes it is set to maximum input gain. Extra 18db on Tape Out is available vis the continuously variable pots. So that is my question = how to set those pots.

Spectral DMC 30SS - how to increase Tape Output Pots to Maximum ?

Unfortunately Spectral USA won't help me because I am not in USA. And my nearest national Spectral Distributor in Germany also won't help because I didn't buy it from them or from one of their resellers. So, I am hoping that somebody here knows the answer ! I think that probably all these...

Spectral DMC 30SS - how to increase Tape Output Pots to Maximum ?

Tape Out from my Spectral does not give out sufficient gain into my Studer A810. It works well but would be better with higher gain. The preamp has "precision dial trimmers" ( under the hood ) on the main system board which allows for adjustment over a 18db range. Two of them = One for each...

    STUDER 810 MK II

    STUDER 810 MK II

Quite recently, I acquired a Studer A810 Mk II in excellent condition. It works very well and was completely overhauled in 2020. However one thing concerns me : When in Fast Forward or Rewind, tape chatter is always heard through my loudspeakers. ( there is no monitor speaker on the Studer...

DMC 30SS How to Open the Fuse Carrier Drawer.

Yes. Quite so. But was bound tight shut and the gap where a screwdriver is inserted is miniscule. Eventually a squirt of WD40 and then using a watchmakers tool released it. Thanks for your help.

DMC 30SS How to Open the Fuse Carrier Drawer.

I have a DMC 30SS. Fuse has never been changed. The vertical fuse carrier drawer, between the mains plug inlet and the on / off switch, won't prise open. It fits flush all round with a very small gap at the plug inlet side. Putting a small screwdriver into that gap won't prise open the...

SS Power Amp to replace Valves - MSB S200 vs Accuphase P4200 ?

Currently using Vintage Rebuilt and Upgraded T N Williamson Monoblocks circa mid 1950s using original parts, Partridge C Core Output transformer, etc. with Tungsol KT120s or Kron KT88s. 30 wpc class A. Triode Mode. The Tungsol KT120s are preferable as they forsake a tad of refinement for better...
