I looked through my old things today and found I also have a Waterman. An all blue transparent fountain pen which I think I'll clean up tomorrow and start using again. Ditto with the damned email;)

Hi
You may need a wall-mounted shelf but the HW-19 is rather big and heavy. My other thought is to mount the turntable in a sandbox which should obviously be 'decorated' and disguised as to its real purpose.
Mr Bojangles
Thank you for the kind words, gentlemen.
Yeah, Cape Town is beautiful but we've had one of the coldest winters ever. I have lived here all my life and wouldn't change it for anywhere else.
@flez007
That's interesting. I didn't know someone makes needles here;)

The Buren in my pic has an inscription on the caseback "All my love 6-9-42" so this makes it at least 7o years old.
I guess the cutoff time for vintage watches would be 60's.
Mr Bojangles

The thing is, prices are not likely to go up immediately after makers of iconic equipment cease to trade. Up and up escalation of market prices will depend on rarity, quality and demand.
Following the last number of posts in this thread, I'm happy to read all of this seems...
I don't think the 'going under' factor is much to worry about for such an iconic product. Top end Micro/Micro Seiki turntables, idler Garrards - products from long defunct manufacturers of autos to watches and long deceased creators of artworks - their values are still going up, and up.

Here's mine. A Buren Grand Prix. It's not really valuable but I still wear it every day.
I have two of them. One, I received from my late father-in-law and this one was a flea market buy.
In an earlier life, I was a watch importer and distributor and acquired a few special watches for...
I can relate an experience with CaranDache - OT if I may as it was with a CaranDache cigarette lighter.
At the time, I was a watch importer and distributor when I received a strange telephone call. The voice asked me "Do you smoke?" and at the time I did. The next question was " What lighter...
Hello Mike
Thanks for replying to my question. I didn't want to edit my post above but perhaps I should have added that I cannot recall if the mentioned UK audio magazine ever applied accelerometer testing to arms with single-point cartridge mounting, nor have I ever read anything adverse...
Hello
I am not familiar with Telos arms but followed Mike L's thread regarding his Anna with interest. I have a question regarding the single screw cartridge-to-arm coupling method this arm uses. It looks very neat and all but do you think single screw coupling of a cartridge to tonearm is...
