Triangle Art system with Usher ML–802s

I hope your chair (or couch) is comfy. You may not want to leave it for extended periods of time. Congrats on the upgrade!

Deeply impressed with the new Hifi Rose RS130 streamer

Good thread for me. The Rose 130SB should arrive tomorrow. Both my wife and I are excited about this purchase, doesn't happen often. Now I have to outfit the Rose. AES Cable from Rose to Allnic DAC. Found a used Kimber AES cable TGDL for an affordable price. Silver seems an appropriate...

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

I ordered a HiFi Rose RS130B Network streamer transport for an added system (wife's fault, she had to have the BIG Ushers). The HiFi Rose has a fiber input but is also fitted with a RJ45 input of supposed very good quality. The Rose will go upstairs on a second system using the Allnic D10000 and...

    Legacy Audio Aeris room question

Of course, you are correct. For us, it was too late. I gave them the specifications and they chose to do otherwise, then tried to explain to me their knowledge of the NEC code. It was obvious to me that he/they probably never opened the NEC book. I'm a former electrical engineer and designed...

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

Nice! I just noted you have what I need, the Aurender N200 Music server to front my Allnic DAC. And you have the same speaker cables.

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

Yes, the sweeps were performed and as a bonus, Ed noted that my 'normal' 85 on the volume control was overloading the measurement. Ed pays attention. He had me lower to 77 to get a better calibration.

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take, probably reads more like a novel. I'm hopeful it's not too disjointed as I had to process changes I made in my brain - the Wife's to - as we learned how to extract what these speakers are capable of. Now we have the Usher Grand Towers in the main room upstairs...

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

Yes, that sounds great, and what I just wrote is fairly accurate on my account. But I look for tone. I fell in love with the Allnic due to its tone. What was missing was that the music's soul seemed to enter the dark side. On one hand, for instance, in Radiohead's song 'Fake Plastic Trees', I...

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

I could never be a good reviewer. Aside from not having great writing skills, I don't know when to stop when it comes to moving cables, components, and tweaks, and this is especially true of the Aeris. The Wavelet, of course, adds another dimension, having a 'built-in' DAC, a preamp, and room...

Help with balance left to right

This is driving me crazy. For the longest time, and not noticed on every album, I do not have a central image. It is skewed to the right by about 1/3 towards my right speaker. My setup is Rega P10-Apheta 3 cart, Allnic H5000 phono, Wavelet II. Calibrated with Wallyskater. Tracking force =...

What has been your best component upgrade?

Aside from the speakers, the DAC could be the most important component in one's system. But vinyl as a source is just as important. I feel it's harder to get there with vinyl as there's so much to learn from my experience. I'm not proficient with vinyl setup but feel I lucked out with my Rega...

What has been your best component upgrade?

Best component upgrade. That's a tough one as I go back nearly 6 decades. Early on I might say the Transporter, makers of the Squeezebox 3. Big leap. Later on the Pass Labs X350.5 Still later the Lindemann Musicbook DSD25. That was huge. And in recent times the Allnic D10000 DAC. I've written...

    CD Transport vs Music Server

Congrats on the Aurender. Really fine system you have - wow. One day I wish to build an Audio Note kit. I will have a tough time deciding on what kit to build! I'll need a streamer too, for my secondary 'upstairs' system which has a BMC S1, a Acoustic Invader preamp and a pair of Buchardt S400...

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

More to look forward for, thanks! Anyone know what the input voltage is of the Wavelet? I've searched the manual and came up empty. I'm ordering a Linear Tube Audio LPS. Thanks

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

The speakers have been breaking in well and continue to improve in tone and image. I think that in listening without the Wavelet II, I've become even more impressed what the Allnic DAC and Integrated amplifier give me. First it's the great clarity without the feeling that a DAC is pulling this...

Thanks, it worked out very well. I'm running the Allnic integrated in triode mode now, 60wpc. Wonderful!

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

Part 3 The Sound without the Wavelet II I anticipated hearing loose, boomy bass and a less cohesive soundstage without the Wavelet. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The bass remained tight and well-controlled, still delivering some of the best bass I've ever heard. I'm comparing this to...

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

Part 2 Early on, my wife was critical of the lack of space, particularly in terms of depth in the soundstage. Music played between the speakers and appeared to lack the holographic effect she desired. Comparing these speakers to the Gradient Evolutions that once graced our living room or the...

Legacy Audio Aeris - My Take

EARLY TAKE Why did I buy a pair of Legacy Audio Aeris speakers? With so many speaker options available in this price range and below, what made me choose the Aeris? I've owned countless speakers during the 58 years I've been involved in this hobby, and I can't recall half of them. Some of...

    CD Transport vs Music Server

I found the AES cable output of the RS2-T to be exceptional. It took a Waversa LAN filter, their top-of-the-line LAN EXT plus to conquer the sound quality of the transport and barely. I still find it damning that the Project folks decided to use a proprietary I2S method of 'transport' to only...

    The Aeris have landed

Question for the Wavelet folks. What direction did you have the microphone pointed when performing room correction? Mine was microphone pointing directly at tweets.

    The Aeris have landed

Bit behind on checking my thread. OK so I've played with toe in, toe out, side to side for speaker positioning. Toed out meaning we can see the inside baffles slightly stretched the soundstage but lost in all other areas. Then I started moving toe-in and found that if I lost the sight of the...

    The Aeris have landed

Not really knowing what the term 'contours' meant in an audio application or what it looked like other than of course, the online manual page 41 which I now know is the Wavelet 1 menu. I learned this from Ed at Legacy. So what was in a 'contours' menu is now simply in the dashboard. I asked...

    The Aeris have landed

How come in my Bohmeraudio app, contour, presets and DAC does not show? The Bohmer room correction worked well but my wife felt like it lost it's dynamics and felt, well, flat. She's looking for that 3D holographic space she craves. I manually adjusted for it's perceived shortfalls but thought...

    The Aeris have landed

Good catch Mark. During my last set of pings I noted that. The Allnic integrated does not have LR designations. One day are mark them with a sticker. Yes 85 on the dial and it took short time to retrieve the data file from Bohmer. Thanks for all your and others help!

    The Aeris have landed

I started with this config using my outboard preamp. I did move outputs around in an attempt to produce a RC sweep. It's all back to normal now and music after room correction sounds better especially in the bass region. Even with outputs moving, music played well. And at the end of the day...
