    AudiogoN violation flags

Audio Afcionardo let's you advertise for free if you are a subscriber to their site. There aren't a lot of listings but things seem to sell very fast over there. There seems to be a higher trust level on that site for some reason.

I saw one on Audiogon last week for 6500.00. That seems like a very good deal.

The Best Audio Audition Experience I Have Ever Had & The Best Preamp-Amp Combination

I don't really know the details of this sale. The one thing I do know is that Delaware has no state sales tax. I Imagine someone could save a lot of money if they bought expensive gear from that state. In Southern California the sales tax is close to 10 percent. Even if a dealer cuts you a break...

The Best Audio Audition Experience I Have Ever Had & The Best Preamp-Amp Combination

I am just curious with this line of audiophile bliss. Since the equipment is supposedly the end all of audio I Imagine that no upgrades are needed. After all If these producers are the cutting edge I guess there is no need for after market power cords, audiophile fuses or quantum chips. Just...

The State of High End Audio

"The people that tend not to be critical listeners by Mcintosh" I am not a Mcintosh supporter by any means. But if you went to a site that there are a lot of Mcintosh supporters on they would take you to task with that statement. I don't get the Impression there are a lot of Mac fan boys on...

The State of High End Audio

I was talking to an engineer at a audiophile meeting a couple of months ago. We were both looking at the D'agstino line of products. We both agreed they were works of art. He told me that the cost to produce some of these enclosures could be over 6000.00. I don't know how much that equates to in...

On the Steve Hoffman website they will be telling you that you can get a great sounding system for 3 to 5k.

The State of High End Audio

All this talk about someone having to spend 30k to get a good system is ridiculous. Not like there is anything wrong with spending 30k on a system. I just don't believe it is necessity. I think If someone shops the used audio market they can have a 20k system for about 10k. You would have to do...

What speakers would you look at in the $12-14K range?

No offense, but I don't really believe that. Give me an example of a speaker that is sold through normal distribution channels that work that way.

What speakers would you look at in the $12-14K range?

Isn't the mark up Insane on most high-end speakers? It seems like the biggest bargains come from the companies that sell factory direct. In general you save the 40 percent the stores make plus the high advertising costs. Of course there are always exceptions to this.

Are you talking about the article where Sanders claims he has the best speakers in the world?

I don't take any offense to it. I could see the Wilson fan not liking the analogy.

I have heard a lot of references for Wilson speakers but that one is a first.

A Visit to AudioArts - NYC to hear CH Precision - FM Acoustics - Zellaton

A Visit to AudioArts - NYC to hear CH Precision - FM Acoustics - Zellaton

I remember when Audio Limits was the exclusive FM acoustics dealer for the United States. I wonder how Audio Arts wound up with the line.

    The Adele appreciation thread

I don't know about him liking her music or not. I do know it was a big event and a person such as Donald Trump likes to make the scene. More than likely it was his wife's idea.

    The Adele appreciation thread

I saw and and thought it was very good. Even though I think Adele is very talented I believe that there are songwriters and singers out there just as good but undiscovered. Only a few make it to the top. There is a lot of talent out there.

    I find this very strange

Do you mean they are going to sell off the other brands they carry?

    I find this very strange

The Fine Sounds Group that owns Mcintosh, Audio Research, Sonus Faber, Wadia and others has changed their name to world of Mcintosh. By doing this it makes the other brands they carry seem less significant. I think from a marketing position this was a terrible idea.

CNBC: Why Millennials Are Buying More Vinyl Records

A couple of years ago I took some records over to Amoeba in Hollywood to sell. I got into a discussion with one of the buyers there and he told me he had a big record collection at home. I asked him what kind of TT he had and he said he didn't know. I believe the majority of record collectors...

The kids I see at record stores aren't buying 50.00 vinyl. I usually see them routing through the bargain bins.
