Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Just upgraded from Roon 571 to 610 with a loss of SQ. Has anyone managed to tweak themselves back to the SQ of 571? I read on the forums that deleting all of the filters in Roon helped and that also worked for me. I have also upgraded the MSB drivers and firmware for the Pro USB Firmware and...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I have just ordered the JCAT M12 switch and their power supply to replace my "normal" switch so we shall see if it does indeed sound better. When you order the M12 switch you have to specify how many Cables you need as they use a different connection on the M12 switch end.

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I have over the weekend tried several different footers, I usually have the Extreme and the rest of my components sitting on top of HRS M3X2 bases and an HRS SXR stand (which is about to be upgraded to the VXR stand + same bases). The best initial results were by using the HRS Vortex footers...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

They are 1 x 5A 250V Slow Blow and 1 x 100ma 250V Slow Blow for the standby power (you don't really need to change this one) for each power supply.

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I have just this week fitted my system with Stage III Gorgon XLR IC's and the Xphynx Statement USB cable. The USB cable was fitted first and took at lest 1,000 hours to fully break in so I expect more of the same with the Gorgon XLR's. These cables are HEAVY and incredibly well isolated against...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I used the standard Extreme fuse for about 1,000 hours and then changed to a Synergistic Research "Black" fuse - not much of an improvement to be reported. Then a friend lent me a Synergistic Research "Orange" fuse which have just been released (or so I am told) I was expecting a small...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Simply put, but yes the Extreme will dramatically improve your sound whatever the source material is. I upgraded from an Aurender W20 and really didn't want the Extreme to sound better as I had it on loan however it was so good that I could not let it go and found that I went from listening to...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I totally agree with this statement, I have upgraded from a W20 to the Extreme and since then have put. a lot of effort into the stand/base (solid - draining of chassis energy works best in my system). The other "upgrade" has been replacing the factory Extreme fuse with the new Synergistic...

SHUNYTA OMEGA QR POWER cable listening impressions

Sounds very interesting, I will have to experiment with a couple of these to hear what they are capable of. I gather they can be used for source components as well as amps?

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Welcome to WBF Roy, my Extreme continues to improve as the hours accrue. Be prepared to give it plenty of time before doing any critical listening, if there is such a thing with the Extreme!

From Alpha NR PC to Sigma NR?

I have 2 x Shunyata Sigma NR's and 2 x Sigma HC's - is it worth replacing the Sigma HC's with some more Sigma NR's?

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I have two of the D3 Setchi's, one is with a USB connection and the other a LAN connection. I found that the LAN one caused issues with my switch so I had to remove it. They are demo's units and Emile was telling me how transformational it was with Mike Lavigne's Select DAC. I hope Mike chimes...

I think so, this is it here: The little Hatch you can see is the vacuum extraction point as it runs a fully vacuum dielectric.

I have been looking at other cable options, namely Gobel Lacorde Statement, The Stage III is a loaner, does anyone else have experience with the Gobel Lacorde Statements? I think I read Mike Lavigne had some.

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I have a Taiko extreme in my system now. Its five days old, and been on 24/7 burn in. Using a Stage III Statement USB cable into my Pro USB module. I have upgraded from an Aurender W20, I really wanted not to like the Extreme, but I was absolutely floored by its sound and its only getting...

Shunyata Sigma Digital Power Cord Review

Thought I would post an update and some findings with Sigma cables. I have just taken delivery of a MSB Select DAC, mine has the dual power base option. I also ordered 2 Sigma Digital PC'S to use with it. All has been fine and the DAC and the cables are now well run in. The sound is superb, well...

Nagra HD DAC - anyone chose balanced output

I have just received my Nagra HD DAC and I have a serious issue, mine came with the optional balanced output transformers, this option means that the RCA's no longer function, although you can switch some jumpers internally to allow the RCA's to work - you get one or the other. The issue I have...

    Gryphon Audio Kalliope DAC

A stereo amp can technically be converted into a Mono, however to do so would not make sense financially, it would require sending the amp back to Gryphon, incurring freight both ways, you need to replace a lot of the internals, for instance, a new back plate, a new single transformer (perhaps)...

Hmm interesting, I was led to believe that a stern could bot be converted to a mono later. I will have to ask for clarification from the distributor.

    Gryphon Audio Kalliope DAC

Thank you for your help, appreciate it, I have spoken to a friend of mine who has the mono Mephisto's with his X2's (Bigpond) I have trying to find out if anyone has compared the stereo Mephisto to the Solo's. I am seriously thinking of going for the Solo's. Knowing my disease of Audiophile...

    Burn in time?

I have found that that my Shunyata cables need 400-500 hours for the sound to stabilise, they do tend to go back and forth on initial burn in, so much so that when I upgraded form Alpha PC's to Sigma's I thought I had made a terrible mistake, however as usual they came good around the 400 hours...

    Cyclops V2 discontinued ?

I am hoping Shunyata will clarify this here soon, otherwise I have no idea how to configure my new system with the amps included. I have been told a very definite no! The Cyclops is no longer available which is strange given its still on their web site?

    Cyclops V2 discontinued ?

I have ben told by my dealer that the Cyclops V2 has been cancelled and it no longer available. Terribly news as I was about 2 of them for my Gryphon Mono amps, is there an other solution other than having to buy another Triton & Typhon combo?

    Gryphon Audio Kalliope DAC

Had a good listen to the Colosseum, I used to have one, compared it to the Antileon, found the Antileon to be warmer tonally but I preferred the clarity and speed of the Colosseum.
