Because i am an engineer by education and I understand physics and electronics can differentiate between what matters and what is bullshit from charlatans. I have been to several demos of these products and know people who have some, high end placebo business is not for me. The claims are ridiculous. Let me give an analogy…
The moon will pull the water level in one end of the bath tub microscopically higher in one end, but it is not necessary to buy shims for 1000usd to prevent water from flooding one end of the tub. What Asuz it telling you is that that is necessary to avoid flooding the room and basement below…
It is the same matter with these shorting plugs, if you have an improperly designed amplifier shorting one input may help or make it worse, with a properly designed amplifier it will not matter. My preamp disengages the unsused inputs and is not affected at all. The chance that you need a shorting plug is likely less than 0.01257% . and if you have a problem you should have noticed it already , not after Ansuz told you you need it.
What Ansuz exploit is audiophile insecurities . Noise and dirty are negative words, so cleaning and noise reduction must be good right? Make som shiny and expensive things that promise improvement from an imaginary or remote problem and charge absurdly prices - and some people will believe it must be good. The fact is that shorting plugs can be had for a few dollars , and the nonsense about Asuz technical solution is without any shred of documentation or proof , just marketing babble , nonsense and subjective placebo. It would be very simple to measure and document the noise reduction from a Asuz plug, yet not a single evidence is given. Look at the price and what you get and what the evidence is,…. Believe you ears,? Well why not believe in facts and method that are 1000 times more sensitive than your ears? Would you believe a Facebook ad and buy blue pills from Mexico at 1000usd a piece to fix a medical problem or get a prescribed medicine from your educated doctor?
Get a multimeter and measure the ac voltage at your speaker terminals with and without the Ansuz plugs and report back.. that is the difference in noise level. Then compare with the voltage when music is playing. why ? Because that is what the speakers is sending to your ears.. if you cannot measure a difference the speakers cannot transmit it and you cannot hear it, whatever you think.
You will probably be limited by the minimum detection level of the multimeter 0.5mV or so . That does not matter since differences below that threshold will be inaudible too…
