Aries Cerat Ianus Essentia Owners thread

I wrote this on Czech Highend forum (automated translation):
Gentlemen I must share my new experience of Ianus Essentia. These are monoblocks with 40w per channel, weight 76 kg per channel. They were powered by hungry Clarisys Studio plus. First the bias and other settings that affect the sound were run through. I started with not too much expectation, they had already been heard at an Open Day when they were a semi-success, some liked them a lot, others less so. I too was a bit prejudiced by the event. After the first few notes I'm thinking, hm the sound is somehow thinner than with my Challenge SE-833 monoblocks. I was getting used to it, as the amps played longer the sound got better, after an hour I was very into the music, record after record, my prejudices slowly disappeared. After getting to know the sound of these monsters, I started to find that I was enjoying them more and more. I was surprised to find how much I enjoyed the speed, which was evident in the rhythmic and the mastery of the presentation of the individual instruments, where I also found the resolution absolutely breathtaking and I could follow the individual musicians in every detail. The instruments were even more pronounced than what I was used to before, and I was really very satisfied in this respect as well. What struck me was the stunning dynamics, and the sheer control of the bass, you just have to hear it. The recordings I was familiar with started to entertain me more, they took on a different dimension, old recording or new. T.Rex, David Bowie, ifggy Pop, Yes with Wakeman, Peter Gabriel, etc...great stuff. Listening long into the night, I didn't want to switch off, but tiredness overcame me, with a good feeling and excitement for the next listening of my favourites I fell asleep.I already know why they won the award in the Stereo Times Recommended Component of the Year 2024. I already know why they have been reviewed so well by those who have had personal experience with them. They will be heard at the show, let's look forward to it and hope the spaces allow for a similar experience to the home studio.

Once you experience this kind of sound, everything else either feels too colored or too thin. There's something about its tonal and timbral accuracy, paired with its remarkable speed, that sets it apart. For me, the most important aspect is how effortlessly it creates music—it pulls you into the soundscape, immersing you completely until you're lost in the music.

At the Indonesian High End Audio Show (IHEAC), my pair of Quintessence and Ageto Pre-Amplifier was sold on the spot. And this was purchased from someone who owns multiple pieces of ultra-high-end audio gear—all now up for sale.

I brought along the Classic Audio Loudspeakers T3.4 Field Coil Speakers, a model I know intimately, having distributed them for over nine years. Yet, I have never heard them perform at this level before. Over time, I’ve tested the T3.4 with various OTL, PP and SET amplifiers, including 211, 845, 212, EL Tubes and 300B tube amps. But to my ears, they excelled the most with the Aries Cerat gear. The amplifier didn’t just handle the speakers—it commanded them, delivering pure music with effortless control.

Using the bias controls, I could adjust the system's sound to suit my preference every day at the IHEAC Show.

What bias levels do you like most and why? Other Essentia owners, I am interested in your comments also

Does anyone have any experience putting AC equipment in "standby". This is mentioned in both the Essentia manual and the Ithaka manual. Thanks and regards, Joe
