I see my system is in there too!

There are MANY photos of well recognized systems of members here and other audio forums.

Gary Koh is seen in a number of photos also, Still-one, Rockitman, Goodwins High End, others.

I hope that dealer isn't saying they sold or assembled these systems. From the looks of the systems and the volume of photos, that would be more than a few lifetimes of sales.

They must just like pictures of equipment.

There are a few "audio porn" facebook pages that just seem to share photos of gear from any source they find. Is this another of those?

I'm not sure how I'd feel about my system being included on such a page, especially without acknowledgement, but it's unlikely to happen given the mess that is the nerdcave.

It seems to be one of those 'bottomless' pages- it just goes on forever! I finally gave up after scrolling for at least 15 minutes. In that time, I found 3 of my system photos. I suspect every audio photo that has ever appeared on the web might be there!

It isn't bottomless, although as you scroll down far, the scroll bar doesn't seem to move as you get to the apparent bottom.

Being compulsive, I did scroll down until it finally ended.

They probably hired one of those "social media" agents to go and populate their facebook page to show they are doing something.

Yep, that was my reason for posting. I'm not sure if it's a Pinterest - like FB page or this guy is claiming these are part of his showroom, or ??

Notr sure where they found the photo. It must be at least a couple of years old. I haven't had some of that gear in a while.

same with mine Jim. I saw they had a photo of my room in my previous house but not the present one. I saw many rooms in there more than once which made me wonder if all those photos were an endless loop but I guess Gary made his way to the end

It's easy to do a photo search with Google. You can find where your photos are posted all over the web.

The big thing on the professional side is that On-line studios keep popping up all the time with hacked photos.

There are way too many of these "audio porn" pages on Facebook - it seems that almost any picture you find on the Internet is fair game to them. I've had a lot of pictures of my rare pressings ripped off and used by other users as 'their' collection too!

If you click on the Albums tab, you'll see that they have 4461 timeline photos. As near as I can tell, none of these have any comments, and most are liked by the same 3 individuals.

I do follow 1 or 2 of the audio image aggregator pages. It does a nice job of breaking up the endless supply of poorly-conceived political opinions and multi-level-marketing schemes that seem to comprise the majority of facebook at the moment.

HOW do you do that search?

If you're using Google Chrome, find a copy of your picture, right click on it and click "Search Google for Image."

Otherwise, go to images.google.com, click on the camera icon on the right side of the text box, and paste the URL for your image.

Facebook is for many things; family reunions, long lost friends, games, photos, videos, news, fun, etc.
It's a public social gathering for the entire world. Everything people find, steal, share, is there for people to share publicly...even if it shows private material possessions, including your face and clothes. It's like Twitter where people socialize and exchange ideas plus everything contained in the public domain world. ...Business, entertainment, family values, pop rock stars, movie Hollywood, new cars, best places in the world to visit, best places in the world not to visit, etc. ... including world's leaders disagreeing with each other on life's etiquette and principles...honor, freedom, human rights and family deepest values.

Facebook and Twitter are like two oceans joining together...the Pacific and the Atlantic...and all the other oceans around the five world's continent.

So, if your hi-fi stereo sound system from 1939 is there, with that 78rpm turntable, it's because someone must have take a picture of it before and posted it somewhere...usually you first.

We can remain private by never visiting the Internet cafe, never owning a cell phone, no regular phone, no camera, no video camera, and stay away from people who have any one of those. If an "accident" happens or someone steals your picture(s), you can try to sue them, charge them, or accept the breach of privacy and enjoy the distribution channels (free publicity of your material possessions plus all the emotions that comes with it).

Today we live in a very different world than the one of just 500 years ago; we adapt to it the best we can.
And people don't usually ask permission to adapt or not. :b

But yeah, use the human charter bill of rights, and exercise the power of the laws to their ultimate limit.
There won't be electric chairs for the guilty and all that Wall Street jazz, but few might jump to their death if losing all their money from the banks.
Then no more pictures to take of your next hi-fi stereo sound system...
