THE BAYZ AUDIO COUNTERPOINT & COURANTE

Bayz Audio Counterpoint and Courante speakers represent some of the most prestigious speakers on the market today. Radically different technology like omnidirectional tweeters and carbon fiber cabinets with worldwide patents. A lifelong culmination of ideas by Zoltan Bay, achieving sound with life that immerses you into it. New driver technology shows how fast and instantaneously these speakers reveal inner details, micro dynamics and delicate nuances. A soundstage wide and deep. A crystal clear image.

Zoltán Bay has been designing and manufacturing audiophile grade preamplifiers, amplifiers, media players, cables and loudspeakers for more than 40 years including a patent for “sliding biasing circuit” amplification.

Zoltán understands the fine balance between measurements and subjective listening tests, “I have always wanted to transcend the prevailing state of the art. This ambition is all I have and all I follow. It is my life. For me sound quality is foremost, design is very important, but secondary. When someone looks at the design, they get an idea of how the loudspeaker sounds.”

Frank Nielsen, CEO of Danesian Audio ApS and designer of worldclass Satori drivers, has been in the electro-acoustic industry for three decades designing high end transducers for SB Acoustics, ScanSpeak, Vifa, Danish Sound Technologies, Tymphany, and others.

Frank and the Danesian Audio team provided improved, unique, ultra-fast Satori-like drivers to match the speed of the super-quick BRS tweeters.

András Voloscsuk and his engineering team fabricate and supply the full carbon fiber composite, high strength/low weight speaker enclosure advancing the state-of-the-art with unheard of ultra light loudspeakers.

András Voloscsuk and the Composite Project Team have worked for decades developing new carbon fiber materials for F1 monocoques, race planes for Red Bull Air Race World Championships, and even carbon fiber pianos. Using this knowledge András has raised carbon fiber fabrication to an artistic level. The beauty and elegance of the Counterpoint and Courante would not be possible without it.

I know it's a bit different from a usual posts, but I became friends with a pianist named Zsigmond Gerlóczy, who visited me in my showroom. All you need to know about him is that after he sent his first album with a cover letter to Keith Jarrett, he invited him to his place twice. I don't think anyone has ever had such an honor. They also played together, which makes the meeting even more valuable. They have kept in touch ever since as well!
You can find a report with him here:

It's always interesting when a musician gives an assessment of what he's heard.

"Today i had the honour to test drive one of the world’s most amazing sound speakers, presented to me by its engineer- and builder, Zoltán Bay. This monster of a speaker (called Counterpoint
1fae0.png

- its name already made me fell in love with it) is “radiating” sound in 360 (!) degrees at the very same volume. The soundstaging is so insane, it feels more 3d then any dolby thang ive experienced in my life, although it has only two sources. Although you feel like sound is everywhere in the room, fills all the given space, the stereo image is so wildly clean and clear. Going further; sounds coming out of this speaker has not only a direction, but some sort of “height”. It feels like an audible holograph, like You live inside the music. People say a good speaker feels like live music, but as of today i feel like there is even more to it. This machine (it might be a cruel word, since it HAS a SOUL) serves music and the art of listening (which i need to learn so much about) on the highest possible level. The counterpoint (just as the craft itself, haha) is not so cheap. Starts at about a hundred thousand (!) dollars, goes pretty far… I dont think i would ever be able to afford it, but if anyone who reads this has this kinda money for the enjoyment of music, i strongly recommend to check out this thing. It won every possible prize in this game for a reason. Everyone knows this is the real deal. It truly is. A spaceship of sound. ( im not getting a percentage im just completely amazed

What a wonderful report, Zoltan! It definitely is refreshing to learn a musician's assessment of a high-end audio loudspeaker -- someone who, mercifully, has not been infected by the audiophile glossary!
