Boardwalk Empire-Season Two Trailer

Finally this series returns to HBO on Sept 25th as Season two starts

IMO this was one of the top 3 series on television last year (Dexter and The Big C being the other two)

Here is the review I posted on Season One. Judging from the trailer Season Two promises to resume at full speed. Steve Buscemi playing the lead role as Nucky Thompson won the Emmy (and deservedly so) last year for Best Actor in a Series. The series will have you on the edge of your seats and if graphic violence isn't your thing, then either will this series as Season one was filled with it.

I look for great things in this series and can't wait for it to resume.

Here is another Season Two trailer

Can't wait for this one.

Also the second season of "Luther" premieres on BBC America September 28th.

I really enjoyed this series last year. I liked Game of Thrones a lot too. But....I'm not a prude by any means, but am I the only one who thinks it has become the standard for cable dramas to have lots graphic violence and nudity - almost every episode - when it really doesn't seem necessary for the story? Seems like there's more blood and boobs on cable these days than in R rated movies. It has become an expectation.

I finally was able to sit down yesterday and watch the Season 2 opening segment and all I can say is that not only does this show start off immediately where it left off at the end of last season but IMHO this is the best drama series on television.

It will not disappoint. All the characters make appearances in the opener. Boy that detective Van Alstedt is one creepy dude.

Nucky continues to reign supreme on The Boardwalk but things are heating up between him and Jimmie

Needless to say, I love this show and anticipate that it will win all top Emmee awards including Best Dramatic Series

Steve is spot on. As with last season, the visuals including set design, costumes and cinematography are terrific. The writing is excellent and this is the role of a lifetime for Steve Buscemi. One of the best shows on TV.

The second season of my other favorite show 'Luther' started this week on BBC America and it did not disappoint. Idris Elba plays detective John Luther. You may remember him as Stringer Bell from 'The Wire'...

I continue to marvel at just how good this series is now having watched the first 3 episodes. I just can't see any other drama on TV that will beat this show come time for the Emmies.

If you haven't seen this and are looking for great drama taking place on the Atlantic City Boardwalk during the Prohibition Era this is it. On Demand is showing the entire first season as well

Well a brief update

Season 2 ended last night with a slam, a literal cliffhanger as good as they get. For those following this show I am sure you will agree with me that Boardwalk Empire is the BEST show on TV (cable or network). Last night's ending was chilling to say the least as Nucky Thompson once again restored his supremacy of Atlantic City. He showed that you just don't cross him. But the final cliff hangar was issued by his "wife" Margaret with respect to Nucky's 170,000 acres of land running through New Jersey where a turnpike is being proposed. Needless to say this land is worth a king's ransom

For those who haven't followed this show, it is never too late as both seasons are being shown on On Demand.

I say don't miss it as it is drama at its very best
