Gosh, I thought this was going to be an exciting thread to plead for Peter's return, all is forgiven, we repent, wankers purged etc. How disappointing.

FWIW he contacted me yesterday and read me the riot act about WBF and then told me about a jihad that has been raging for 30 years and that "I am welcome on AVshowroomsforums as a 'founding' member' and that was his personal invite to me. He also went on to say that if I join "I will have a chance at redemption" because WBF is lost and will never return and that I need to "man up"
I suggested to Peter that he really needs to see a doctor to get his medications adjusted because he seems to be suffering from delusions of grandeur. Many members here have already been asked to join his new forum where wankers aren't allowed and only he and he alone will separate the wheat from the chaff because at WBF we don't cater to audiophiles but rather pander to uneducated normal people
How does one say to him "open mouth and insert foot deeper"
So for those that want to hear his sermon from the mount from the self proclaimed savior of the hobby that he loves so dearly and save it from ruination you know where to find him

I concur based on experience with my friends and myself, all of whom know him well.

I must confess that some comments of Peter on this forum have really puzzled me because they seemed to imply he more or less started to consider himself as a sort of 'audio god' or 'audio guru'. Needless to say that I do not believe in 'audio gods' or ' audio gurus'.
I think Caesar meant it in a nice way, but in his references to Peter B he would always call him The great Peter Breuninger, which I think got to Peter.
Is it me or does his site look like it was designed by a 6-yr old? I told him that too when he first started it (well, not the 6-yr old part).
I'm not trying to turn this thread into a feeding frenzy but I was never a PeterB fan after having watched a handful of his videos. I find them laughable...self absorbed and meaningless. The one about the $10K granite power distribution thingy, case in point or the one about the sweet tarts glued to the wall another. I couldn't care less that this self proclaimed "expert" took his ball and went home...good riddance..
Interestingly, he apologized to WBF members over at the Audioshark site. I haven't read if he apologized to us here, on this site. Then, he gave his view on the "downfall" of WBF, due to the objectivists taking control and subjectivists having to always reply to the measurement folks and constant arguments from them. IMHO, there has always been disagreement between the two groups on any site I've ever visited, so what's new?
That is mostly true however what is different this time is one of the site owners going over the top with objective Harman based nonsense graphs that don't accurately measure what makes something sound good or not. There are no measurements that can model great sound...
Good thing then that 90% of research shared was listening tests results and not measurements....

Hmm. I read both forums and enjoy them both. I thought Peter's rant was uncalled for, but I'm glad he has apologized here for it. I would hope he has apologized at WBF, too. Personally, I have enough conviction in my own thought processes that arguments from objectionists don't offend me, as a matter of fact I gain additional insight from them, whether to bolster my own assumptions and observations or to discount their observations and sometimes mistaken application of science. There are always scientific principles in effect not completely isolated or identified in one's otherwise scientific explanation of why something sounds the way it does in a home environment. Always. That is why the subjective opinion is so important. Of course assumptions based on subjectivism only can be a mistake also, if everything is not considered. Examples are many.
