Interesting report. Thank you. How would you compare the Poporis sound to other electrostats? I have Sound Labs. They sound like Quads on streroids and replaced my failed ESL 2805s. But the other brands I am familiar with (Martin-Logan, Sanders, & KingSound) do not sound like Quads or Sound Labs. They each have a different flavor.

I am using VAC Essence 80 monoblocs like the ones used in the Popori room and shown in your report.

I'm looking forward to hearing more of this speaker! Their top of the line is rated 96dB which is break-thru for ESLs.

These large Albeido speakers produced some of the most realistic, i.e "the absolute sound" in rather small hotel room. I have asked gentleman from Albeido to put on Sonya Yoncheva's baroque arias on Sony label and these speakers produced the closest approximation of what I had heard at Mrs Yoncheva's live concert sitiing in the 4th row. These Albedo top of the line speakers are worth to covet and if one has the funds go get them!

A reasp, to chide the VR-40 ober iyd' dibling other than price.

I was struck mostly by its' imaging and staging. I know not what percentage of this is attributable to its' supporting cast and source material. Maybe even the room. It had an uncanny ability to disembody itself from the music. It did approach 3D character. I thought it might slightly be lacking in vertical dispersion. Perhaps that could be enhanced by 6"-12" of stands.
