Why in 2025 is cream cheese still sold in rectangular aluminum foil packages which are impossible to reseal, make a total mess and make it difficult to extract the cream cheese?Why is dumb packaging like this still a thing?
I personally dislike plastic. There is a too long to watch video on Netfix about forced obsolescence. It premise is how this has created a plastic polution crisis. The whole video is about plastic polution. They show what entire parts of major cities look like under 1 year of plastic trash.
I get the waxed paper is not going to break down either. But its a lesser quantity of waste.

Looks like operator error to me. 
Three quick solutions:
1. Open it more carefully so it can be resealed. We can do it.
2. Can’t do #1? Put it in a baggie.
3. Buy the package that comes in a tub with resealable lid. It’s not much more.

Ron, simple solution.
Eat it all in one go, put it in your Salmon Alfredo, no need to re-seal anything, because it's all in your stomach.
