When I was out of my oral surgery residency first year in Los Angeles, some of our corrective jaw surgery cases were monitored by an anesthesiologist nicknamed "Woody." He said his son played in the group "America" and he got free tickets to all their performances. He said his son practiced by going to a cave at the beach, smoking hash, and playing for hours on end.
However, I can't remember his last name. This was about 1980-81. I thought Woody was pretty old, but I was 30/31 and his son must have been about my age.
I also can't remember if his son was one of the main guys or just a backup or replacement.
