Price per gram of this thing Lol.

Leif, it's now more surprising to find reasonably priced esoterica like this than gear you expect to be stupidly priced. I'm not sure what this says about the market...and us as consumers.

to many with money to spare and wits lacking
Leif, I heard a fantastic cart a year back at UK Paul, the Aidas Panzerholz, a total bargain at £1.5k. There ARE stellar performers that some of us not in the 1% can contemplate, and yr DaVa is one of them. And no shortchanging in SQ.

an update:
it´s even better than I thought!
dialed in geometry and vta better today and a few hours more on it and it really loosened up in the dynamics department
relaxed solid dynamics, much like my Studer......flowing naturally, no stress, just being there ready to hit
and the separation and differentiation of harmonics is 2 die 4
looking fw to an even better tube LCLC psu and the dedicated SUT.....having wired for x40, since I only have TVC and no active preamp
to be continued

The dealer of Primary Control in Moscow has the DaVa as well and mounted on a Reference tonearm. He gave exactly the same feedback as he also is a big tape fan: it sounds like a good tape with the DaVa.

Hi Leif,

What is the cost of the matching SUT for this cart?

What’s the impedance of the cartridge and suggested loading value?

Impedance for mine will be 2-3 ohms and about 0,15 V output, no need to change my standard SUT built into my phono stage as it is foreseen for 0-14 ohms impedance and +18dB

I am also going to get this cartridge. Keep the feedback coming in please, guys.

I would love to but i need to wait a couple of weeks more before it is ready and then it goes to Bernd from Primary Control first who is going to make the best match with either my current tonearm (the FCL tonearm) or the Reference (which has a higher effective mass).

Adding mass to the FCL should not be too hard ;)

mine is 3 Ohm and 0,17mv@10vdc to fc...will rise with voltage supply....so will heat of cart body
Darius says stick to max 10,5vdc in wood headshell and alu/metal 13,5 due to better heat dissapation
I use Audiosilente graphite shell in my 12 Groovemaster Ti
still have slight hum....will attend to after having changed galley faucet in my sailing boat
after all it´s sailing season and audio is going into low gear

Hi All,

I am excited to say I have ordered the DaVa today. Quite a long waiting list though so won’t be getting it until after the summer.

Best.
