Try winding a single strand of copper wire around dc cart pin (like wirestrapping)and lock it under the head of one of the cart screws. From there on to riaa gnd
In my setup I have no connection between dc and gnd, but all is gnd to riaa and NOT SUT. Then SUT to riaa as well
I think Lief has the best advice for fixing the hum problem. In my system, I am running the regular DaVa and the DaVa SUT, same as Bill. I also have no connection between DC and ground. I do have my SUT grounded to my AS Phonolab phono, and from there run a ground wire to the star ground point of the entire system. My current DaVa tube psu is very silent and isn't grounded in any way.Try winding a single strand of copper wire around dc cart pin (like wirestrapping)and lock it under the head of one of the cart screws. took a break. my baseball team, the Mariners, have now won 13 straight, and 18 of 21 games, played Friday night and Saturday (exciting games, won both), then there is the British Open at St. Andrews, the Tour de France, my soccer team the Sounders, and my daughter and son in law visited yesterday and stayed late.Mike - did you manage to resolve the ground issue?
hi Leif,whatever happened here Mike?
Please unwind dc cable from armwand, use carbontube for the dc cablesOK
my best bet is try unwinding dc cable around armwand
just tape it parallell with wand...
I have no separate cart or psu gnd to riaa or anywhere else and have zero noise in 112db sensitive horn system
best
Leif
i'm told my problem is a carbon fiber arm wand does not allow any grounding. so i have to provide some.OK

ok, some progress, got a pair of single channel copper 1:40 SUT's from Dave and this has taken me to a better spot. i'm now hearing some amazingly explosive, detailed and very 'live' sounding music from the DaVa. the bass is extraordinary. and the noise issue is lessened.
very encouraged.
next going to work on re-doing the dc and ground wires running straight on top of the arm tube. maybe O ring and tape idea. need to find thin ground wire somewhere.
