Is that a Aries Cerat turntable with Air LT arm ?

Hello, guys, those who are interested and would like to experience the sound of DAVA SOUL, there is a great opportunity at Munich High-End Audio Show 2025, Aries Cerat room No. F111.
Hi, your electronics are all RADA, what speakers are you using?

Last Friday I stayed a good half hour listening to the system with the Dava soul but the room was always too full of people and chatter, thus preventing those who wanted to get a precise idea of the potential of both the system and the soul. It was certainly a big and quite realistic sound but as for the detail and the identification of the sound levels there was very little left due to the passing crowd. The system was placed in the corner area of the large room with an exhibition area on the left and another system on the right and certainly the situation did not favor correct critical listening and in any case the sound was not bad. It is known that fairs like the MOC are more suitable for watching than listening and people go there more to polish their eyes and to dream. To be honest the good sounding rooms could be counted on the fingers of one hand, the situation at the MOC was much better. If I may give you some advice it would be better to have three separate rooms than one gigantic one unless, as Silbatone or Acapella did, they use a single system there. However, some of my friends told me that in the rare quiet moments all the beautiful features of the Dava came out beautifully.IMG_5369.jpegIMG_5368.jpeg

I really don't see how anyone can understand a cartridge at a hifi show, unless to some extent the exhibitor is giving you compares.

The only takeaway, had I not known Dava, was that a manufacturer thinks the cartridge is good enough to display his top gear, given that Dava is sold direct so a distributor/manufacturer does not make any money selling Dava - so the exhibitors are only doing it because they believe it will help system presentation.

Separately, specific to this set up, I think Stavros uses the cartridge for his own personal use, along with the red sparrow, unless it is only Dava now. Stavros can confirm.

Hi

We alternated between Aurora system (after 17:00) and the big system. The unfortunate with big rooms is that they can hold big crowds, and they go EVERYWHERE. In some instances we had more people around and behind the speakers than most rooms seated, you cannot really listen. Also the fact that many like to stand in front!!! of the speakers does not make us any favor. In any case, it is the nature of the thing. We held after hours events so many could hear what it could really do in silence.

We do have a number of TW that we used to develop some of our arms. Two weeks before the show i received two versions of the Dava to try them. They ended up playing at the show,so that is that. The TW is working amazing with our arms, but for this show, for this system, we only played with the DAVA.

I shipped a FR64S to Richard Mak and had it converted to 66, new Abec9 bearings and continuous wiring from cart clips to rca
It sounds very good with NOS Kiseki Purpleheart
So did I!
I just received it back a couple of weeks ago. I went for all of Richard's upgrades including his continuous wiring, ABEC 9 bearings, WBT silver RCA's which he recommended highly and a Yamamoto head shell which he again recommended. Richard also put 6 of his aged silver wires inside so it can be used with the DAVA field coil cartridge for which it's supposed to be a beautiful match (the other tonearm is a Shindo Mersault with Shindo SPU A on a better than factory fully restored Commonwealth 12Dmk3 which will be in a cast Iron plinth.

Richard did amazing work. The now FR66S looks absolutely stunning and he provided great information on how to get the best out of the tonearm and it's unusual setup geometry.

Can definitely give Richard my highest recommendation. For anyone who is uncertain about the positive (or otherwise) effect of using the dynamic spring, you can always not use it and just statically balance the arm.

Would love to hear your videos with the Dava on Commonwealth playing through Misho’s electronics and your field coils

I'll be starting to post some of those videos on my audio Facebook page along with comparisons with other gear when I get the DAVA and then have it mounted. Will also be setup on a stripped Technics SP10mk2 in 65 kg Aluminium CNC'd plinth that was designed for it and is a good 2 man lift. Will be fun to compare to the Commonwealth Idler and being able to compare with the different low power triode amp and setups including Misho's wonderful amps and some different field coil speakers.

I'm still getting up to speed with this 66 page thread (though a good 20 plus pages into it). It's reading better than most crime thrillers, but with a happier ending. Has there been any comparisons or opinions of the difference between Darius's original FC-A1 field coil and his latest revision?

Thank you.

The original was FC-A1 was followed by the reference, more on similar lines, and then the Soul, which is different. Leif has all 3, while Audioquattr's place I compared Reference and Soul. Vess has both. There might be others who moved. You can check with them, but reference and soul are different in sound, so without checking your listening tastes it will be difficult to comment what you would like.

I'm looking at the Soul and the FC-A1. I was curious though about the sound of the original FC-A1 and the new production A1 which has the non round aluminium wire like the reference and soul and the better finished gold plated parts so less likely to attract dust and particles and the body being much lighter than the original. All supposed to be for a improvement in sound over the original.

I was hoping that some of you may have heard the new version of the FC-A1 and could comment on the difference.

Richard’s work together with an aftermarket steel alloy or bronze alloy knife edge bearing takes the SME 3012-R to a whole other level imho .
Could you describe the differences in more detail please
