Hi,

DIY hifi has been a hobby of mine since I was 14 years old (that about 18 years ago...) I mainly listen to jazz and classical music.

During the day I work as an automation project engineer. As I have 2 young kids (a boy of 4 months, and a girl of 2.5 years) and quite a busy job, my spare time is very limited, so my "audio projects" move at a very slow pace. Nonetheless, I find it a fantastic hobby that gives my great enjoyment.

I try to employ good engineering, but as there is tons of misinformation floating around the net, this isn’t always easy. In the past years I do have acquired some measuring gear, which does allow me to test if something is correct.

My current system (see attached picture) uses a Geddes 12” waveguide together with a TDM12 (from AE speakers) As designing cross-overs isn’t easy, and crossover components aren’t cheap, I choose for an active system using the DCX2496.

Currently, it is still a work in progress, but I am already very satisfied by the sound quality (and the polars don't look bad)

One of the reasons I joined this forum, is the learn from the best and improve the system even more!

Welcome...did you bevel the edge of the driver in a single pass? Was it a large router bit or possible CNC?

Hi, I did the radius is two passes. The biggest problem was that the diameter of the bit (1" radius) was bigger then could fit through my baseplate of my router, so I had to dismantle the baseplate and make a new wooden plate to be able to perform the routing. But it worked out ok.
