If you have lots of wood left over, the Jatoba/Brazilian cherry is a fantastic wood for a floor! You don't stain it since its gorgeous color is all the way through and all it needs is polyurethane to gloss it. It's practically scratch-proof being almost twice as hard as oak.

I agree.. we have Jatoba hardwood in the entire main floor of our old house and we like it a lot, we got lot's of complements on it too. We have been renting the house for the last 4 years and I was surprised how well it held up, considering the renters have a dog and a cat. This wood has a lot of character, and very easy to maintain.

It's almost time to redo the floor of our current house - we're going back to Jatoba for sure.

oh BTW, Rugy, awesome looking project. I am currently working on a DIY stand - I know it won't look nearly as nice as yours.. I've got to look you up next time I drive to Vancouver

Thanks, and metal is a wonderful product to work with, can fabricate but have zero welding skills.

Yes keeping the Platine, will be using two other arms with it.
The Beat has an option for three arms which is what I ordered.

I used to think who the hell needs more than one arm? But now since I’m acquiring more and more mono LPs, it would be cool to have another arm with a mono cartridge. However, since my Krell KPE-Reference phono stage only has one set of inputs (as do most phono stages), it would be a bit of a pain to unplug the stereo arm and then plug in the mono arm every time you wanted to switch between arms.
