Golden Gate 2 Reactions

Coming back to my question, posted several pages earlier, thank you all for the suggestions. I do not think, I would be able to find Lampi 45, will try to get EML Globe Mesh 45, but again, it would be difficult. The Tak recti is waiting for me, so I will get it first, it's a no brainer. I already got a pair of Tak 300B in my amplifier. To get another pair for my DAC would be quite expensive, considering that I also have RK 300B. EML2A3 is an interesting suggestion.
Found this list of tubes on the Lampizator side: https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/c6db56_f965437f3d4a49ba8f16ea322ad19a70.pdf.
It has some interesting tubes there, but not sure if they all will work in a GG2. For example, KR PX4 RK, KR 845 M, KR T100, KR 4A3 RK. Is it worth trying any of these tubes? Thanks.

RK PX4 is good, T100 did not work in my GG but apparently work in the Pacific. For the 45s if you don't get Lampi you want the EML mesh globe anniversary 45

The PX 4 is nice tube. It’s relaxed a bit so fits more genre and quality recordings
I sold mine for it’s not upfront jump. Perhaps some genre may benifit from this.
When Norman was over my Place he did not hear what I did at first then did. On my setup there is much to be heard but it’s complex and some may not get it at first.
As for the globes in lampi name I have them in a nkt ways I can’t hear anything of change but I do with solid to mesh. Kedar has heard many ultra hi end setups much more than I ever will or has.

If you like classical Ked has the widest experience, so his views should be given at least some weight.

I can't really stand classical, tried though I have.

Al... Not PX4 but RK PX4, it is different

I highly regard Kedar’s views always. We may argue or disagree but let let be known we are friends and he has heard much systems , dacs than I ever will.

I heard RK PX4 in a system where the 242 does not sound good so can't really say that. But generally it is more like PX25 in terms of power, body, oomph. Good control. I would like to next time listen to this with the Ayon recti as that recti did well with the other RK (300b)

When I have heard 242 sound good it gives a completely different sound to the RK

When are you comming back to my place ? Much has changed and you have plenty of thoughts to share as always

I have a pair of eml 45 for sale both mesh and solid plates
Is it the 45 Globe Mesh version. I understand that this is the best 45 tube after the Lampi Anniversary edition.

I will do, for sure. Haven't planned my next NY trip yet

I got my GM 45 after just having heard the Anniversary for a few weeks on and off. I certainly don't think the Anniversary is any better. In fact I was thinking if anything the GM 45 was better.

That could be a delusion and I would treat both with equal merit. The only difference I could see was the base and the graphics on the tube.

In fact my GM 45 were made at the same time as the Anniversary project and were being held for any warranty claims. However all warranties have now expired, so I got them.

I will compare both in a few days

I take him with a pinch of salt LOL.

You did take me with a pinch of salt, which is why you still have under driven apogees and a lot of room to improve your Lampi

Stop talking poop Ked.

You need to upgrade to an actual system, which I will assess for you.

And what, pass assessments on my own compromised system like 99 percent of people do?
