Half Way To Hell Here In SoCal

Ron, will you start moving records or more portable Hifi equipments to a safe place?
I put a couple of stacks of irreplaceable tapes in my nicer car yesterday, and drove it yesterday to a safe parking lot.

As far as I can tell the Pacific Palisades fire is completely extinguished. I am unpacking my SUV.

The note I left this topic on in September had been weighing on my mind heavily enough to log in with intent to reinforce strength of will in overcoming tragedy. Last I heard, Tuesday the 14th is forecast to produce the hardest conditions yet faced.

I live in Tustin and had a great view of Saddleback when the clouds parted this afternoon…..

Ron, Steve and others affected by this terrible fire: hope you guys stay safe. Fortunately we in the Bay Area have been spared, but next year may be different. California is a great place to live, but we are faced with these environmental challenges. Hope things turn out fine for you guys and the fires abate.

The Marin County Fire chief has some good presentations on youtube about fire defensible space and fire resistant material, including shots of neighborhoods were the house burned even though the fire didn't burn the nearby trees and plants. It really emphasizes the importance of renovating houses to replace flammable materials. I'm in Colorado and have had too many close calls, and I'm hoping I've done enough to protect my house (and my stereo systems!)

Thank you. I stopped paying attention to the fire news about 2 1/2 weeks ago.
