The answer depends on (1) the structure of the acquisition (if the entire entity was acquired, that would include the liabilities such as ongoing license obligations, but if only assets were acquired, those liabilities might or might not have been included) and (2) assuming Harman did acquire the liabilities, then the details of the language in the "lifetime" subscription/license would also matter. Which direction Harman went or goes from here will depend on whether the decision to do the deal was driven by the perceived value of the customers or the technology, or both.If I may ask the lawyers here, how does it bode for those of us who availed of the lifetime subscriptions?
