High End 2018

I'm in Switzerland right now visiting a friend, and will drive over tomorrow (5/9).

If any of you see the big systems like Wilson WAMM, Living Voice Vox Olympian and Living Voine Palladian, can you do a little review of these three or whatever you feel are the top sounding systems.

Heard living voice multiple times at Munich. At Munich the top system is usually the WE, though it depends what they bring in this year.

The tune audio Anima sounded good in 2016, as did horns universum, and the 120k Odeon horn in 2017.

Unfortunately there will be no WAMM at Munich. There was a rumor that they would be there, but unfortunately it was just a rumor! Europeans still have to take a long flight to listen to them ...

I think there were plans... Check the "dud" link in the first post.

Living Voice is bringing two systems this year. One using Öld School"Kondo electronics as they have done for years and the second System using Engstrom 300b amplifiers. About half of the dealers or owners of the Living Voice system are using the Engstrom electronics now.

Report on Divin Majesty please (Goebel room).

what was nice today:
- Nishikawa San presenting AF 3 premium and AF1 premium plus (and having AF2 premium as demo)
great music, big fun!

- Ortofon Century on 12‘ SAC tonearm versus Ortofun SPU Century on Ortofon arm, interesting comparison

- Blue Schweickert with VAC

- New Cessaro with bass reflex subwoofers

- the new big Wilson Benesh

- Clearaudio 40 years anniversary exhibition

- Air Tight with Wolf von Langa

and more :)

The Apolyte actually spins!

Christoph, could you fill us in a bit more?
These speakers are meant to be unique in having perfect phase coherence without relying on a digital crossover/dsp.
Is this something one can hear?

GMKF can you add me to the Spatenhaus list?

I walked past it last night and it looks very nice.

I appreciate I am late on this. I will turn up anyway for 8pm as I am very close by if you don't get the chance, as someone prolly won't make it.

SPU Century?? No mention in the Ortofon press release.

the SPU Anniversary 100 is in the final prototype stage, will have the GME MKII generator, a shibata needle, 3D printed chassis with integrated wooden part.
Price estimate is 5000,-

interesting today:

- spent some time with VIMBERG, the new speaker line up from Tidal. I liked it a lot, not as analytic as Tidal, more friendly to „normal“ music, so for me, independent from the more affordable price point, a nice new speaker alternative

- Arcadian Pnoe with AER BD4
out of one driver this huge horns can make 20hz to 50 khz , around 115db , max SPL above 130db , very interesting concept, only the 2 AER chassis are above 40k

- Lawrence audio, new speaker, nice sound

- new SME turntable with integrated Nagra phonostage
