Looks like Tannoy continues to free-fall since becoming Chinese and selling off all their production equipment in the UK several years back and moving production of crossover, drivers and many of the cabinets to China.

They literally didn't even sell one Ferrari's worth in the entire US last year.

It's sad to see such a storied brand drop so low in quality and to read the postings by the highest level of former Tannoy people describing what's been going on.

And the poor review in What Hi-Fi - a magazine that used to love Tannoy that must have hurt them (the drama between the US distributor attacking the UK distributor certainly didn't help the PR).

And with what I'm being told they are about to announce just around the corner (actions have been well underway by Tannoy for this in the UK) regarding the brand, I wouldn't want to be a Tannoy dealer.

This didn't need to happen and it's terrible how they have trashed the brand.

The previous US distributor is liquidating their remaining inventory, probably decided it was time to move on. This is common in the industry when a manufacturer changes distributors and doesn't buy back existing inventory.
