I improved my streaming by adding three accessories to my AT&T router.

I got in a Shunyata Gemini-4 yesterday specifically for my telecommunications closet and wound up taking a big step forward on my Qobuz streaming quality.

Three things made a difference:

1. Added an Ansuz Sortz plug around a year ago. Big decrease in noise.

2. Added the Gemini as a line conditioner. Big decrease in noise.

3. Added the Ethernet ground tail from Shunyata to the Gemini. Another drop in noise.

Next up, I will add some optical converters to shorten my Ethernet cable runs.

The biggest impact for me was when I created a fiber optic bridge between my router and system (even though my modem, router and system are only 5 feet apart). The second biggest impact was when I went to a Ansuz D2 Ethernet switch.

I have had the Ansuz D2 switch for a while and it is excellent. Made a big difference. I look forward to doing the fiber optics. That is the next experiment.

Hey Lee, best bang for buck thing I ever did. You don't need expensive gear either. I bought a pair of 10Gtek Gigabit Ethernet Media Converters from Amazon and some fiber optic cable, about $100 total. I did put Ifi power supplies on both. I've tried more expensive, Sonore Optical Modules, etc., made no difference in my system....

I notice improvement in sound quality after the following things:

1. Changed the the router power supply to LPS - I'm using sbooster + Cardas clear power cord to the electric distributer.
2. Changed connection from the wall to router, and from router to audio system to optic cables.
3. Using good quality distributer, Nordost QB8 MK2 in my case

The title of this thread is misleading, imo.
There are a million things people can BUY to improve streaming but this reads as if you are offering insight to different router/switch settings or perhaps other “practical” options.

The Sonore opticalModule Deluxe v2 was a major improvement in my system compared to the 10GTek and TP-Link FMCs that preceded it, feeding an EtherRegen. Maybe you tried an older oMD? The current version is reputed to be significantly better than the first two.

If my memory serves right, I believe it was the Deluxe V2. I also powered it with a SGC LPS. Don't get me wrong, The Sonore worked great, I just didn't find any net gain over the 10GTek in my system. When I test out gear or cables I almost always give it 2 months of back and forth testing.

I had always read positive things about the Deluxe V2 and that's why I gave it a try. My best guess is that my Ansuz D2 switch is the main factor in my chain. Modem - 1/2M custom ethernet cable - TP Link router - 1/2M custom ethernet cab - 10GTek - 6ft Fiber optic cab - 10GTek - 1/2M custom ethernet cab - Ansuz D2 Powerswitch - 2M Ansuz DTC2 ethernet cab - Lumin U2.
