Had to do something in the Winter. Attached pics show the latest version of the K/C pre. One box with separate power supply. Plug everything in on one side - set the switches to your liking, then turn it around to have the VU meters visible - for those of you who, like me, kind of "listen with our eyes".

First one promised to a friend in Dallas. Other one not yet built. Have enough parts for a few more BUT THEN??? More and more NOS quality parts becoming unobtainable.

Who knows, maybe I will meet you in a friendly competition one day.

I too love listening with my eyes, but I use a scope in its XY display mode for that - it is VERY informative besides being entertaining.

VU or power meters is life , sad day when all amplifiers went blank and dark ...

If you want a really nice meter, get the McCurdy, it has two meters per channel, one shows VU and one PPM. I have a couple of them.
