When I saw the thread title I thought you were talking about your audio mastering work.

Seems like nice advancement like defibrillators. Is the regular doctor doing the colonoscopy qualified to deal with any complications from the machine?

I would say no...that's why they have anestheisiologists in the first place...plus the doctor/surgeon is busy performing the procedure.

Looks like they are using it just for conscience sedation for now, but more invasive procedures like Neuro and Peds are in the works!

I'll be retired by the time they have FDA approval for more advanced procedures.

They said the same thing about BIS monitors years ago!

Too bad we haven't learned our lessons from Star Trek and I quote "Our technological abilities are not apparent because we have chosen not to employ them in our daily lives. We believe when you create a machine to do the work of a man, you take something away from the man". The world cares more about money than man and seems unconcerned about high levels of unemployment or nonproductive people. A sure recipe for disaster.
