I spotted this old thread and thought I should mention the Swiss-built Piega Coax speakers that feature a co-axial ribbon top and middle array.
I visited a showroom in Holland a couple of years ago and enjoyed a couple of hours listening to and being blown away by the Piega Coax 711. It's not a large speaker but my goodness it sounds good. A few weeks earlier I'd auditioned a similarly sized, but even more costly Magico, but the Piega was far more impressive. Both use heavy aluminium cabinets that contribute to the astonishing bass that both these small speakers can deliver.
