Everything you say has nothing to do with my rack. There is nothing flimsy about it. Total weight is probably 130 lbs. or so without any gear. The shelves are very high density MDF, 1-1/2" thick and quite heavy. And I use the very robust 2" Mapleshade tri point cones under the components, not MG cones which are on the flimsy side. And I do torque down the shelves. You find some kind of "pdf manual of sorts" and that tells you everything you need to know about the product. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really find your comments uninformed, judgmental and insulting. What is it about people like you who think you know everything when all you do is speculate and intentionally upset well intentioned people.

My limited experience on Earth suggests that there's a very high correlation between the level of arrogance in which one believes they know everything and the level of speculation they engage in to deliberately upset well-intentioned people. Generally, it's a 1:1 ratio, or there about.

Which is why I'm so fortunate to be a Very Fallible and Easily-Deluded Anonymous Forum Dweller and not a Resonance Transmission Systems Specialist. Whew.

Oh you mean the audio shows where I exhibited and the majority of vistors claimed my humble but well-thought-out system was the best sound they ever heard or best sound at the show?

Or are you talking about Audio Exotics, who also carried Silent Running Audio and Critical Mass racking systems, on the very first day of installing my 1st rack posted a note to Zanden in Japan saying, ""Dear Yamada, It is very very important to let you know. If you want to listen to the maximum performance of your Zanden system. Please come. No Doubt, it will be a new experience even for you--the inventor of Zanden. This orange thing is monster!! I am sure!"

Or are you talking about the emails from AE telling me how inferior the other racks were compared to my own? Well, I guess you wouldn't know about those cuz I never publicized them.

Or are you talking about any of the AE comments including them calling my rack their greatest find in recent years.

Did you ever see the post where one of their visitors said, he'd been to Boston, NY, San Francisco, Istanbul, and other big town audio dealerships and he'd never heard anything like AE's sytem, and AE didn't have one system achieving this extraordinarily high level of musicality but 2?

Or do you mean the clamps that I licensed to Audio Horizons where of the 10 - 15 they sold, it seemed nearly every customer provided feedback saying these were the best kept secret in high-end audio?

I agree those feedbacks are fairly meaningless. Especially when at any show my racks provide near zero performance benefits as they don't even start to come alive until day 5 or 6 and take at least several months before performing at their full potential. Not to mention my components like Esoteric and BMC were rather inferior. What I didn't tell visitors at the shows was what they were primarily hearing were my fabulous Foundation Research line conditioners.

Yes, such feedback is failry meaningless. Especially when the versions AE have or had in both of their $500k showroom systems only perform at maybe 40% of my current version.

Ummmm, I think you're confusing this whatsbest audio forum with the whatsbest marketing forum. Surely a consumer like yourself realizes marketing is always and by far the best performer where one often times has little to do with the other. And yes, my marketing skills obviously suffer.

The flimsy comment was directed at a component's often times flimsy top plate which can be flimsy stamped sheet metal. That comment was not directed at the MG rack.

Does Michael Green use mdf for shelves? If so, it's not a guess when I say mdf is quite an inferior material for most anything related to performance.

The pdf manual I located and probably still have somewhere was MG himself providing installation instructions. So I took his word on the matter I mentioned.

My comments about brass are what they are. I know MG was at least for a time selling his products with brass Audio Points of which I'm all too familiar with. Brass metal a hinderence for transmitting energy.

I wasn't trying to beat up on your rack. But since most here seem to know little about racks, I wanted to also make clear my $12k rack is nothing like his $700 rack. I also realize MG most likely was trying to keep the costs down to a certain price point so it was affordable to many and provided some benefits. Most every mfg'er of most every product has to compromise quality and perforamce for price but Michael Green was certainly on the right track, which is more than I can say about some other rack mfg'ers.

I was hoping for a more in-depth discussion about the differences between isolation and energy drainage as approaches to vibration management. What is known about the two approaches, how they differ and why, and more.

As far as Stehno's rack, I too find them but interesting but IMO the comments garnered from those around him who listened amounts to nothing more than anecdotal evidence with metadata only. Show me a patent or a white paper on the rack and then lets talk. And BTW Stehno, Peter has started a thread on your rack in a different place. We'd all appreciate your replies be directed in that thread. As Tom said we are all better than this.

Other members, except moderators in their duties, write in standard color and font. WBF owners have made a good choice, with high readability. Why some people feel they must write in a different way, making the reading of the the forum a tiresome affair for others?

I simply mostly ignore long posts in different colors. it's just too much work and strain. nothing personal, just the signal to noise ratio ( noise=annoyance from the color not the content ) of long hard to read posts is not worth the trouble. too bad, as someone put thought and time into writing it.

short ones in color are ok, or brief colored type in a larger context is fine. I respect we all chose a style that we like.

I also avoid advertisements with reverse type, where the background is dark and the type is light or colored. blue is particularly hard to read. I love the color blue personally, just not in type.

I too share your sentiments Mike and Micro. It seems that color is an option that members can reply with. There is one other member here who like to use blue as well that others have commented upon to me in a similar fashion. Let me look into this

since I'm being critical, it's only fair I fess up to not using caps. I know it bugs some people. and I'm guilty. I'm a 2 finger typist and do the best I can. at 65 years old it's just the way it is.

As for the color blue used to post , if the mods use green to intervene in a thread, then the entire color palette must be made available to everyone if the mods are to have green available to them.

What I will do is discuss members' posting in color other than black and whether we would like to continue to allow this. 853guy and Mike are not the only ones who have complained to me about these lengthy blue posts.

Are we making a mountain out of a mole hill or is this something the membership feels just as strongly about

I have no problem to use bold or italics to make certain points, nor do I have a problem for occasional use of color. I think Mike and 8533guy are commenting about certain individuals making voluminous posts in color other than the default for every post

I don't believe we need any rules change regarding posting colored type. that was not my point at all. only that if posters want to get their posts read, then they need to consider whether color helps or hinders? and that there is nothing at all personal in that perspective.

there is nothing broken that needs fixing. just maybe some honest communication.
