The last episode of "Seinfeld" may have aired 16 years ago, but the eponymous star of the Emmy Award-winning sitcom is still said to be raking in the dough thanks to the show.

According to Wealth-X, a Singapore-based company that researches the ultra-rich, Jerry Seinfeld raked in at least $400 million last year thanks to syndication deals for "Seinfeld." (Last year, the Independent reported reruns of the show were estimated to have generated some $3 billion since the sitcom went off the air). That, together with more recent projects like 2007's "The Bee Movie," have kept the 60-year-old comedian's coffers amply stocked, Wealth-X said in a media release this week. So stocked, in fact, that the company has dubbed him the richest actor in Hollywood -- and possibly the world.

"With an estimated net worth of US$820 million… Jerry Seinfeld is laughing all the way to the bank," Wealth-X wrote in the release.

Second on the company's "Hollywood and Bollywood Rich List," which compared the estimated net worth of actors and actresses from the U.S. and India, was Shah Rukh Khan (estimated net worth: $600 million), a prolific Bollywood actor. Tom Cruise, Tyler Perry and Johnny Depp also made it into the top five.

Those numbers are kind of sick to be honest, although I appreciate the value of the show he and Larry created. As I said in another none-related thread earlier....."excessiveness beyond comprehension".

Amazing. His daughter goes to the same private school here in Manhattan as one of my clients. In fact, Jerry was in charge of fundraising for the school and I think he personally donated like 10 or 20 million. :)

Wow. Had no idea. Why in the heck did he do Amex commercials and such with this kind of money going his way?

He seems like a nice guy though so all else being equal, rather see him be wealthy than say, Ellen DeGeneres. Saw here on an episode of canadian reality show "Holms" something and she was so arrogant off-camera.

Amir, why anybody likes Ellen DeGeneres is beyond me! BTW, I think that Leno has probably fewer Porsches than Jerry, although Leno's overall collection is much larger. Jerry recently bought a 917 and now adds that to his amazing collection.

There was an article a few years back on his multi level garage (Porsche's only) he built in Manhattan for big bucks.

I love the Seinfeld Show ,and he has some of my money from DVDs over the years! I hope the rest of the cast were not only working for a weekly wage?
