Kuzma 4Point - which tonearm wire?

ETI is not the same as KLEI. I have had negative experiences with several types of KLEI Harmony connectors including the Harmony and Absolute models. ETI Research has some very good connectors such as Copper Link and Kryo. For those of us who are sensitive to rhodium colorations, and Furutech is a major culprit, ETI is a welcome option.

oh i see. i thought KLEI did implement an ETI type scheme though no? that's interesting that you observe a negative experience with KLEI - i did wonder having heard the comparison now (furutech versus KLEI) - how KLEI could be the state of the art. now i want to hear it with the ETI. any specific recommendation?

but also if safir owners could chime in - what rca plugs did yours come with? i suppose it must be Kuzma that decided the KLEI absolute harmony was a good fit?

Anyone tried WBT Next Gen?
I have them on 1 of my 2 tonearms, silver one

A couple of years ago, I terminated my DIY Audio Consulting cryogenic silver interconnect with ETI silver plugs. The result was unsatisfactory. So, upon a recommendation from the local audiophile community, I replaced them with Furutech CF-102 RCA plugs, and the cable started to sound great.

I still hate anything Rhodium -especially from Furutech- but this plug must have something very different. I also use a lower version of the Furutech CF-102 with my DIY Belden 8402 interconnects.

I’m not convinced that Rhodium or any plated Furutech product can be good. In my opinion, it’s impossible -but I haven’t tried to find a better alternative. I’m sure one exists.

My favorite RCA plugs are Audio Note AN-P. Second place is a tie between WBT 0102-CU (not Ag), ETI Kryo and Cardas GRCM. They all sound quite different but I like each one. Third place goes to ETI Copper Link. With the right cable, Copper Links can sound very good.

I haven’t tried Furutech RCA plugs. After buying so many Furutech products over the years and being disappointed so many times, I now only buy their copper AC plugs (FI-11M Copper) and Gold chassis inlets (FI-09 and FI-06). I find all of Furutech’s Rhodium connectors quite annoying. Yet I am ok with Cardas connectors with Rhodium plating so there’s more involved than just the type of material.

I agree but I prefer original Kondo AN-P.

I agree. I only use Furutech FI-11M and FI-11 IEC AC plugs. I cannot say I like gold IEC inlets for chassis. I wish there would be an un-plated copper version like FI-11.

Interesting. I have never tried a Kondo AN-P but I am not surprised if it sounds better. I have been trying old silver litz cables from Audio Note-Japan (made around the time of the split between Peter Q and Kondo), interconnects and speaker cables, and overall I prefer them to current cables from Audio Note-UK.

I source it from used Kondo KSL LP interconnects. They’re not available for consumer market. In a comparison against AN UK plugs they proved they’re superior.

Agree on Furutech, same goes for their power outlets and AC/ IEC Rhodium plugs

Agree on Furutech FI-11 copper plugs- that's what I have in the system. Also some Bocchino power outlets.

I've had some preconceived notions about WBT 0102Ag, but I recently got FR66S tonearm restored and re-wired with silver wire terminated with WBT 0102Ag by Richard Mak of Analog magic, and I can confidently say that I don't hear anything objectionable (brightness, etc.)., so I guess "it all depends".
why don´t you try the plastic free Duelunds?

i have. They are very difficult to work with

interesting....my FR64S is with Richard now and I´m settling on last details like rca and wire
which wire did you choose?
I´m going for "the package": refurb, Abec9, continuous wiring and 12" conversion

why? 2 solderpoints and you need some shrink tube around wire where grubscrew locks wire in position

That’s funny. Richard returned my FR-64S just a few weeks ago. I opted for the new bearings and silver internal wiring but I kept the DIN connector. One of my reasons for not going with the full length of wiring was that it uses WBT Ag connectors. I have several sets of those connectors which I have used on many DIY cables and I have yet to find a cable where I liked them best. Too lean and too bright. Maybe Richard’s silver wiring would be the exception; I guess I’ll never know. In any event, I liked the tuning flexibility of being able to use different tonearm wires.

I went with Richard’s silver litz. Most of the wiring in my system is silver litz (Audio Note UK or old Audio Note Japan) so I thought that would be a good fit. I am very pleased with the arm, both sound quality and ergonomics.
