Mass order of KR242 from KR Audio

One possible issue is, in the past (and as far as I know, this is still the case), due to 242 tube shortages, Yoda held back 242 stocks for buyers of new Lampi DAC's (not sure what his current 242 stock situation is). He won't sell just the 242 tubes.

I don't blame him at all for holding back/reserving tubes for new DAC buyers, and I'd probably do the same if I were in his shoes.

However, that may leave all of us on this thread out in the cold once Eunice ships the 242's to Lampi.

Perhaps this will not be the case, but has been historically.

Cannot speak on behalf of Mr. Yoda. From all my talks with his team in HQ there was no production run for quite a long time at KR Audio.
The price I have got yesterday is EUR 700/pair for KR242.
I have already placed my own order with Lampi, and if all goes well tubes should be available in May or June this year.

Just to be sure:

Those will be the regular ST-shaped KR 242, right?

And NOT the Riccardo Kron "square"-shaped RK 242?

That is exactly my understanding: it will be regular ST-shaped KR242 and not KR242RK version. I have ordered from Lampi regular KR242.
And just to be crystal clear: I have only ordered KR242 sets for myself. Now when it is with Lampi, each one of us can go and order directly from Lampi. No need to go via me or via KR Audio.

I just put in a request to Lukasz for a matched quad - hoping gain is not too much of an issue with my integrated.

Which recti are folks using with these?

My favorite recti at the moment is EML 5U4GM.
Next is ACME274B and then KR5U4G RK.

Appreciate the reco, I'll try the EML - reasonably priced too!

Has anyone received confirmation from Lukasz for their order? I emailed him twice with no reply.

No response to my email, but I know this is a hectic time for him with audio shows and travel, so I may just wait a bit before following up.

So is LampiNA participating or do I need to order through Lampi Poland?

I would do a matched quad.

I got a response from Lukasz that said my email held my place in the queue - received email on 5/4/23.

Hmm, I got no response at all.

When I checked few days ago the answer from Lampi team was that they are still awaiting for delivery of KR242 from KR Audio.

Gents,
To the best of my understanding first batch of KR242 has arrived at Lampi. I should have a pair later today.
Second batch will be coming in not too distant future.
The good news is that KR242 is back in production!!!

Allnic makes a 242. They are spectacular in my h8000. They started making them because the KR's are so hard to source.

I spoke yesterday with Lampi guys and they have zero in stock…

My understanding is that all received pairs were already allocated.
Next batch is coming soon (at least that is how I understood it).

No idea as actually i asked for @Thundersnow pair(s) and stock was 0 - so he ended empty hands:(
