Man, back when I was a teenager inthe 70’s I’d walk through the electronics store and drool over the Marantz gear.

Hey Bob, I can relate...their receivers from the 70s with their unique tuning wheel in the center and that beautiful blue analog tuning meter background display...oh my...kids happy.

That one just above (control pre/pro) has several buttons but still with aplomb...the nostalgic years of a legend...Marantz.

In my very own personal opinion, Chord makes the most hideous gear I can possibly imagine

Christoph I understand.

Audio gear (power amps & linestage preamps) taste is a personal invitation to each individual's chord's striking; like music genres, cars, wines, cigars, cognac, food, room decor, etc. Everything in life.

The Chord preamp and Chord mono amp I posted yesterday I find strikingly innovative, authoritative, enlightening, invigorating, rejuvenating, liberating, confiscating, rehabilitating, ... with accent of red and blue in the dark black ambiance, ...brief like one said before; a space odyssey.

For the looks alone they move my chords just fine. I have zero clue as for their real life performance and measurements included for the audio scientists of object.
For subject people they might provide what their loudspeakers ordered last time they visited their offices. I just don't know, I go for looks alone, what me I like. They fit my suitcase, my chords, with a clean bill of healthy looks.

I could write two books about it, but I simply won't. :) ...Just on looks alone.

This thread has reproduced the results of similar threads I've seen over the years, those asking for the most beautiful as well as those asking for the ugliest. Like those other threads, it contains such a mix that either title could apply. De gustibus.......
I am not site what your point is. Change pccurs. It is fun for some. Sometimes the choice for ugliest and prettiest is the same

Exactly. My point is the amusement at my observation that, regardless of whether the thread title is "most beautiful" or "most ugly," the range of contributions seem the same.

When I first saw Thöress gear, I found it strange looking, but not in a positive way
In the meantime, the Thöress look absolutely grew on me and now I find it rather cool :p:D
Same here Christoph. It's got that retro cool look. Sounds nice too.
