My Tube Collection, Welcome to share yours

Then I can also add a Siemens 12AU7 with similar material used din plates:

This one has Siemens Munchen codes on it (Gf1 ≠3D) but was branded Telefunken. A part of the logo is still visible. It has a very nice airy and detailed sound, maybe my favourite 12AU7.

This reminds me, strangely enough, of Charles Darwin, the naturalist who loved to collect beetles. His father was a physician, but wealthy enough to support many financially challenged aristocratic families that had fallen on hard times. He desperately wanted Charles to become a physician, but in those pre anesthesia days, surgery was not for the squeamish. So, Charles was banished to Cambridge in the hope that he would become a priest (that’s what Cambridge and Oxford were intended to do in those days). But Charles loved to collect beetles. So much so that when on a beetle collecting trip, he found his hands were full, but had to possess the specimen he saw in front of him. So, the beetle went into his mouth! He eventually went on a five-year voyage around the world on HMS Beagle collecting specimens of exotic animals, before becoming the world’s most famous biologist.

The point of this long story is that like collecting beetles, tube collection is a passion that makes no sense to anyone except those that collect tubes (or beetles). This is an awesome collection, Adrian. I thought I was nuts having several closets of tubes. But you’re in another league. Not sure what you’re going to do with these eventually. Like collecting postage stamps, beetles, or baseball cards, the hunt for the next acquisition is what drives all collectors.

Thank you for your appreciation. I don't think I'm a true collector as I just wanted to find some tubes that I was satisfied with at the beginning. I bought a lot of tubes without realizing it. As for how to deal with these tubes in the future I have already made plans. Tube rolling is a part of my life and as you said only collectors can understand the fun of it. Thanks again for your kind word and have a nice day.
Best regards
Adrian

As a one-time photographer, who collected a vast amount number of lenses, cameras etc. before I sold all it just before the pandemic, I'm really impressed by the quality of your photographs. I think they're the best photographs of classic tubes I have ever seen. You could set up a separate web page just showing these photographs. The quality is just amazing.

So glad that you enjoyed the photos, the earlier ones ( maple colour ) were taken by Leica and the latest ones were by OPPO mobile phone .

Ah, yes, I see the Leica like quality in your photographs. I owned the Leica M10 and the Q2, as well as the Leica Monochrome. I miss them all! Perhaps I'll get back to photography soon...

Do you use a tube tester to rate these tubes?

Wow, great collection of tube testers. I use an Amplitrex primarily, and a Heathkit as well.

I will share some earlier versions of Siemens E88CC. First is a D-getter one made, most probably, in '59:

And the second is a foil getter version, made, most probably, in '58:

The labels were almost deleted and the tubes were not looking good when I got them, on the last one I guess we have S/H logo and "Cca". I do not know how to decypher the printed code, these seem to be pre acid etched codes which also preceeded the stamped metal inside glass codes. If anyone is able to help me decypher that code please do it.
