No, nothing like Mullard or Philips, lack of energy, too smooth to my taste.Matsushita used Mullard tooling I believe. Any similarity in sound to Mullard?
Oh, OK. Many thanks Adrian. No, nothing like Mullard or Philips, lack of energy, too smooth to my taste.
You are very welcome !!!Oh, OK. Many thanks Adrian.
You have the best collection I've ever seen and I'm always impressed by your knowledge and photography of tubes. Some of the best ECC83View attachment 138124
Thank you for your appreciation, the three tubes on the right are Brimar Long black plate plate, Marconi (Italy ) black plate square getter, Philips miniwatt printed but made by Valvo long plate 45 degree square getter 1956. The second one from the left is Mullard mC1 1955 and the fifth from the left is Copenhagen welded plate D getter 1953, by the way what is your favourite ECC83 ?You have the best collection I've ever seen and I'm always impressed by your knowledge and photography of tubes.
That's an amazing selection. I'm not the best at identifying tubes so I'm not 100% sure on the three to the right. I don't have any of the box plate square getters or black plate Mullards or Telefunken ECC803S. I haven't put enough time on Tungsgram silver plates to say but I love the Mullard mC1 and Philips welded plate. I think everyone loves those two.
I know we all have different preferences and use different gear but the post said some of the best and I didn't see my favourite tube in the picture!

Oh, is Carlos from Canada, very welcome to this tread, yes Siemens ecc83 is always your favourite, I'm only have some Siemens ecc82 three mica but haven't try the ecc83 three mica yet, hopefully might get some later.Always excellent choices. How you've differentiated between all the revisions is extremely impressive and helpful to a lot of people. If there was sunlight right now I would have taken a picture from my couch. Spoke to you a few times on FB as Carlos. Not trying to hijack or pollute your thread but I couldn't resist saying hello and putting out a few tubes of my own. Hard to find people passionate about the 12AX7! Here's my favourite for my guitar amplifiers: Siemens E83CC.
Nice to see you again! The Siemens E83CC triple mica is quiet. Of all the ECC83 tubes I own this has the least noise and lowest levels of microphony. Listened to a lot of tubes across a variety of guitar amplifiers and tested them on a Maxipreamp II. This is the best I've heard and seen. It might not be the ideal tube for your gear but I'm confident that it's a great reference for what a quiet tube should be.Oh, is Carlos from Canada, very welcome to this tread, yes Siemens ecc83 is always your favourite, I'm only have some Siemens ecc82 three mica but haven't try the ecc83 three mica yet, hopefully might get some later.
I wasn't even aware of that Tungsram 12AX7! There's always another one to add to the list.Nice, I have a few only but still trying to get one of this nickel plate single support disc getterView attachment 138637
Awesome tubes. I feel a lot better if I think of it as show and tell rather than bragging. This is also an internet forum and I've been around a while.... pics or it didn't happen! :Now I’m simply bragging, sorry.
