I'd put my all-in-one up against any 4-box pile of separates that cost the same price. It's ridiculous to suggest otherwise, although obviously a pile of separates each costing as much as my all-in-one will give it a run for its money.Then you are 50% below system potential with an all in one setup ..!

I'd further suggest that, if a much bigger portion of an audio budget is put into separates, the balance left for speakers will result in disproportionately poor-performing ones and consequently poorer sound quality. As I said, if budget is no problem, perhaps a different matter.
A pile of separates, unless all well chosen and bought at the same time, will inevitably have a "weak link". An all-in-one should have all its component parts representing matching quality and performance. But as long as we are all happy ....
