Neil Armstrong First Man On The Moon

Dead at 82

I bet those of us old enough remember vividly where they were when he stepped out of that space craft onto the moon

Steve, looks like we get our news at about the same time, LOL.
Very sad day indeed. I remember vividly staying up late in the UK to watch the landing on TV as a child...the most remarkable thing I had ever witnessed.
RIP Neil Armstrong.:(

Yep was 15 :)

But he died having done something no one else did or will ever do! And who knows if we'll ever go to the moon again :(

Darn but I guess I am older than you and Myles as I was a first year OB, Gyn resident at the time and was on my Ob rotation when we were in the doctor's lounge of the Toronto General Hospital waiting for the next delivery when we heard those historic words as he exited the lunar lander

If you grew up fascinated by the space program, his authorized biography "First Man" by James Hansen is a very good read.
