well the New Look Lakers can score but they can't play defense ....as they build a 40 point lead in early 3rd and then go ice cold through the 4th as the Pels come within 15 but Lakers finish them out 123-108

the team you saw down the drain a long time ago

as a Lakers fan, I still believe.. frustrated with the season sometimes, but I always believe and cheer for

I’m with you differ but TBH there are better teams in both conferences than the lakers. Do you agree with StephenA that the Lakers are a force in the WC. I see them as merely spoilers. I can’t imaging them going deep in the playoffs but you never know

I always hope they will go deep, or all the way even.. prior to trade deadline, we know it is next to impossible.. now, they seem to have the ingredients, although I sometimes question how Ham utilize them.. I think they beat the good teams in the west already to prove that, and only lost close games vs great teams like the Celtics even before the deadline. the current team is much better. LBJ did not win 4 championships and reached the finals for 8 consecutive years by accident, hate him or like him he is not just an ordinary NBA player.

having said that, my opinion is just an opinion. Ham played basketball professionally, and has years of experience as an assistant coach in the NBA, getting paid millions to do so.. Is he as good as the other head coaches, maybe not.. these guys in the NBA are good , but they are competing in the highest level.

I played a lot of basketball in my younger years, but not good enough to go very far. did not make a single cent playing basketball.. so I can type and pretend I know a lot about basketball but that means nothing, these guys still know about basketball way way more than I do. I had a friend who played at varsity level, I saw them train and how basketball has become science. I played street ball vs some varsity players, it made me realize how good it gets vs the casuals, much more the pros. I thought coaching is easy, until the time I had to coach our company team at a very low tournament level.. it is not that easy.

Here are my concerns
1.The health and ability to play wrt LeBron and AD. Older players and "big" players are more susceptible to recurrent injuries as we have already seen. If both are healthy I wouldn't want to be betting against them

2. New look Lakers have proved they are fast and can score easily from most anywhere and most of them can shoot 3's with high accuracy BUT they really can't play defense and that won't win a 7 game series

3. You nailed it Darvin Ham. It took me half the season to remember his name and the only thing I knew about him was he was an assistant to Pop at SAS. I don't doubt his abilities but he hasn't proved to me what abilities he has to go the distance. Let's not forget than in Tyrone Lue's first season as HC he won the championship because it was LeBron dong the coaching. That could easily happen here this year

Ja suspended for 8 games.. I personally think this is a slap on the wrist, and will be treated very differently if he’s just an ordinary Joe.. I am a Ja fan as an athlete but does not like way he handles himself lately.

I was surprised as you say to discover what he's been up to. Im glad the league at least took action.He'll get himself back on track.

I wonder who will be PG when Lebron returns, D Rus is a natural PG, and the starting 5 will have 1 player shoved to the bench. Who will it be? New chemistry, new system, the 'acting' coach's system.

Clippers played a good game, as expected Kawhi and PG scored and Westbrook contributed as well. He seems to be less pressured in the Clippers team. By now, he can play bad and media will not bark at him. He's not in the limelight. His effort is shown in his hustle plays and I don't think he will have a 30 point game as a Clipper.
