Totally with Brogdon. Ime preached defense. Joe preached offense, 3 ball offense mostly.

I've always liked Tatum. He was my pick for No1 in the draft and he has proven himself to be a real superstar. The last 2 years have highlighted the one glaring thing that he needs to improve on. The only thing keeping him from getting to the next, highest level is his handle. Should he tighten this up, he could be unstoppable. I think the same could be said of Brown. Hopefully another year of experience and growth will make this happen for the Celtic faithful.

On to Denver! Can Bam approximate what Draymond did to the Joker? Can they stop Jamal Murray when they need to? Will the nuggets have the speed to run the Heat off the line? We'll see.

This is going to be a very interesting finals. This will be like the upcoming Spence vs Crawford fight. Size and power vs Craftiness and greater speed, skill possessed in huge quantities by both.

Quack Jack time. I'm predicting Nuggs in 6 one steal on the road on the basis that I think the Heat will have two off shooting nights and Herro's reintegration will be a part of that.

Make that Quack Jack & Phil potato chips corner. :D I'm looking at 4-2 as well. Denver doesn't have an Al Horford and Smart type of shooter, who opens and wilts every other game . It's a very formidable shooting 5, plus 2 on the best. I'm interested to see how Malone beats the zone.

Agree. Both have spotty handles. Then, as Bob pointed out, they need to improve their passing skills, ala Warriors type of inside passing. More bounce passes. But in my view, he needs to concentrate on making the mid range jumper as his money shot. Like 80/20 against the 3 point shot. He is a converted 3 point shooter, needs to be in a rhythm, and has never won a 3 point contest. :D As for Brown, I hope they don't give him the super max extension. It's just going to put the team in a tight fix. Ironically, Celtics need an IT type of scorer who averaged 30 points per game.

I think if Denver doesn't win it in 6 the Heat will win game 7 on the road and I order pizza o_O

Let's not forget that Herro's hand has healed and he has been cleared for the Finals. If he melds quickly with the rotation and is on his game there is yet more perimeter shooting

At least white truffles aren't part of that Pizza bet Stevie :D

Someone like Murray. Ouch.
No worries, Jack, I wouldn't ring Brad to take Murray. Murray belongs to Denver. I like to see drafted home team talents stay long with their teams. I like Denver, no frills, no clowns, no trash takers, but when teams bully them, they respond, like the Jokic elbow tackle on Markrief Morris. :D

And he's famous for the 'snarl' against the Lakers in the bubble. His claim to fame. :D

Here you goJack....Nuggets in 6...Great read. Says it all

2023 NBA Finals preview: Nuggets, Heat take unique paths to Finals stage

The story of a No. 1 seed facing a Play-In survivor doesn't do justice to the star talent taking the Finals stage.

Indeed the air or scarcity thereof is a factor........Nuggets havent lost at home since March

Never knew there were medical warnings at the arena on game day. Miami is in for some rough adjustments like the Lakers did in the old non air-conditioned Boston Garden in Game 7 of the 1984 Finals. There was a shot of Kareem with an oxygen mask.

The winning of the series is not going to be dependent on how many Murray and Jokic score.
They are going to average over 50 combined. I can't see that changing.
Unless they score 70+

The series will hinge on Denver's other three starters. Gordon, KCP and Porter Jnr.
If they score 30 or less in a game, it's Miami's to win.

That's my pre-series prediction from 13,000km away.

In a word, Consistency. Miami was the far more consistent team, specially in offense in practically the whole eastern playoffs. There was no formula in defensive pattern to control or shut down the outputs of Vincent, Strus, Martin, and Robinson. Lowry scoring is just icing on the cake. To me, that is Denver's biggest challenge. How to work out going against screens and other plays to free up these long range shooters. From there, Denver's offense will take its shape.

On the coaching musical chair, my son showed me a meme with a caption - "Sixers fired a Doc, and hired a Nurse". :D
Can Nurse do better than the Doc? Sixers failure to succeed is baffling. They have a handful of number 1 picks overall, and a number 3 in the last few years. And while I was browsing through some stats, I found out, to my surprise, that Butler was in the team with Embiid and Simmons in that loss to the Raptors of Nick Nurse. It was a big 3 of sorts. But they lost on the lucky bounce of Kawhi's last shot. I am now wondering if it is a coaching problem or an Embiid problem.
