Amazing how a championship propels a dominant player into the best of all time conversation. This illustration by Richard Jefferson is very compelling, as he compared the stats of Jokic to those stats of first year champions. He said it's hard to argue with stats. Very true.

you can't argue with his stats. He is a phenom.....a 7 foot point guard who can post up , defend everyone and pretty much sink shots from anywhere

Bradley Beal and the Wizards are exploring trade talks.

Perk goes off again with his crystal ball. It seems failure does not deter him.

Harden to Lakers
Beal to the Celtics. This one cannot happen.
Draymond to the Sun. What? To argue again with KD? LOL

Could the Pels move Zion??? The bigger question to me is, that if they trade him, who will want him. He's an overweight player prone to injury and now with some off season drama does anyone want to trade for him

Zion was one player I really was excited to see in the NBA, based on the hype on his college games. What a bust. He could have been the face of the NBA.

He's proved to be a malingerer who likes to sit the bench every season and decide when he's ready to play. The Pels want to trade him and hope to move up in the draft

My biggest off season hope is that the Lakers find money to pay Reaves and hopefully Hachimura but my bet is they will once again make the mistake and trade their upcoming assets to try to win one more before LeBron turns 40

Watching the talk shows these 2 days about the Lilliard and Beal trade scenarios, I got a good explanation as to why this is happening now. Apparently, players who sign a max contract cannot be traded during the first year. And now that the first year is done, Lillard and Beal can be traded, though Beal needs to rescind his no-trade clause. And putting the pieces together, I now realize what is going on with the supermax of Jaylen Brown. If Boston doesn't sign him to the supermax, Brown becomes a free agent and can lose him for nothing, like Kyrie and Hayward. So it's a poison pill for the C's, cough up all the $295m and let Jaylen be your 'property' for the next 5 years, and they can trade him for 'assets'' starting the second year, which is what is happening to Dame and Beal. The CBA gets better and better for the players. If signed to the supermax, Jaylen Brown will become the highest paid player in the league at $59m per year. Jokic, earns $46m next season and for 2026-27, gets $57m, in contrast. And next year, Tatum can get a supermax much more than Brown.

I still don't understand what determines the amount of a superman contract. It's ludicrous what some of these players are getting paid. FWIW to hear Tatum will get way more $$$ than Jokic is crazy. As to Tatum getting the most in the league $59M, I read LeBron gets $60M....what $1M between friends

Steve, the $59m is for Jaylen Brown. Tatum next year is eligible for $63.8m a year. Both will be betting more than Jokic or LeBron. As for how, players must have played 7 years and be named in All NBA Teams that year or the year before. It's really ridiculous how these salaries are computed given that Brown's present salary is like $29m only. So it doubles. But more eye popping is the salary jump of Jordan Poole, who went from $4m to $29m a year upon contract extension. That's not even a max or supermax. That's a 7 times increase.

isn't CP3 due to receive $60M this year unless he gets cut before a certain date, he only gets $15M . For baby. I'd take the money and retire. Who in their right mind would pay him that money. If he's traded surely he will agree to a redo of his contract

LeBron is getting 'just' $47m next season and has a player option for $50m after that. Jaylen Brown will top him by $9m starting next season if he signs the supermax. Bragging rights. :D

Cp3 is booked for $30m next season and another $30m after that. But if he's waived before June 28, he'll get only $15m and that is all he'll get. Till he signs up with another team, another deal.

From baby logo to a 7 figure signature shoe deal. Pretty good. He is a very likeable player, even for non-Laker fans. :D

Well deserved. I love this kid. My favorite Lakers player

As for Ja Morant, that's a very costly fine. I hear Memphis is shopping him. I think he is the future of the NBA if he ever gets his act together
