New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

I think it is all contingent on Turner's progress. While the trajectory is phenomenal considering that two years ago other teams didn't want to touch him because he ran the wrong way literally (since fixed!), he still needs 15 to 20 lbs of muscle. Indy also appears to be a wing short. I sort of look at them as Diet Warriors LOL The lack of another long wing makes them very vulnerable on the defensive boards like Warriors regular. I see them getting to the conference finals only if they can avoid CLE. I think they have a sluggers chance against any other team in the Conference. Here are the big IFs. If Glen Robinson III and Georges Niang develop quickly this year then they suddenly turn into contenders by virtue of now having a really solid second unit. Realistically however I think next year will be the year they really go deep. 2 years to contend. Now, if somehow they can get another stopper at 1 or 2 before the trade deadline.........sky is the limit. Thats where the imagining would have come in. PG13 is actually a 2. Imagine a lineup of Teague, PG13, Leonard, Young and upcoming swat master Turner. Only Teague would be a liability on defense.

Watched the Lakers season opener against the Rockets which turned out to be an exciting game as the Lakers pull away at the end and give Luke his first victory as a head coach. They looked good without Kobe

That's how teams usually do when the old guards go and the young ones get to play, Steve. Same case when Garnett and Pierce left. And maybe we'll see a better Spurs without Duncan. Giving oldies sentimental playing time will ultimately bear down on a team's focus and thwart confidence in the youth. Russell will be a premier guard if he keeps his focus. And if Randle develops into a star, time to kick Ainge for drafting Smart ahead of Randle.

Both the Celts and Lakers will be rising stars Phil. The Celts can possibly win their division this year. It would be a shock to see the Lakers reach the playoffs. The players really seem to like Luke though and I bet his tenure in Los Angeles will be a long one (unless Phil coaxes him to NYC)

Future looks good and C fans want to see the team trade for 1 more big star to go deeper into the playoffs.1 or 2. And I'm sure the Lakers want that too, trade for star veteran. Luke winning his first game is big for him, and I heard daddy Bill and family attended the game for good support.

I'm amazed by the quick revamp, West out, Hibbert out, George Hill out, these new guys look much better than other eastern teams. Great job by Bird. And I thought he was slipping. And new coach too. Let's see. . .

Two good games on TNT tonight - Celtics vs Bulls and Clippers vs Trailblazers.

Lakers looked good last night as noted. Maybe Luke Walton is the horse whisperer....and Nick Young (!) started.

C's lost to a new look Bulls team which has a very strong lineup.

Saw the 4th quarter of the Clips Blazers game. DJ still can't shoot free throws. Austin Rivers needs to make more of his shots. Chris Paul is still fantastic as usual, and Blake seems fine. They're still a fine group of guys, hopefully can go deep in the playoffs.

Bulls looked better than I thought as I was certain the Celtics would beat them.

Clippers are in a do or die year as CP3 and BG32 both have expiring contracts.

DJ looked as bad as ever from the free throw line as you noted.

Austin River's Dad should speak to the head coach about his selfish play!!

JJ Redick had a very poor opening night. He'll get back on track.

Biggest positive surprise was former Warrior Marreese Speights. Looks like the Clippers made a good decision signing him.

Durant faces his old team and old buddy Westbrook. Kinda like Ray Allen facing KG and Pierce. :D

And KD shows us why he chose the Warriors and how he is now on track for his first title. 39 points, mostly shooting almost as soon as he catches the ball. Curry and Klay now takes second and third fiddles with 21 and 19 points but who's complaining. The engine is yet to go full throttle.

Lakers up by 16 over GSW at Staples. Lead was as much as 19 at one point

Great game

The pupil beat his mentor. :D Success is on hand for the Lakers.

Big win for the Lakers and for Luke Walton.

Were I an NBA coach I would study this game film closely. If anyone knows how to beat the Warriors it has to be Luke.

Pacers look like @$%^&

WellJack, a win today over the Bulls made them look a lot better. And made Coach Nate's job secure for the moment. :D

Clippers win big over Spurs. Clips looking good. Andre has to keep practicing his free throws double time.

In the old days when the Clippers made the Texas road trip they were guaranteed three losses - San Antonio, Dallas and Houston, but especially San Antonio.

I didn't get to watch the game but any win over the Spurs is a big win!

And, yes, DJ needs to start making his free throws !!! :(
