I am not in a situation to share my ideas about r-2r dac but I think Daniel Weiss idea about r-2r dac is 100% correct , very few DAC designers like Dan Lavry use proper R-2R (old Lavry Gold 924).
I allways say specs are meaningless and the only important thing is Designer , I will order New Weiss DAC even it does not use R-2R dac.
