Hi I just got an MC 2105 & a pair of ML-1C speakers. The glass on the front of the amp has a crack, but it seems to work ok. I know at its age should replace the caps & the surrounds on the speakers too.Just wanted to check with these issues repaired, what you McIntosh users opinion is on the amp& speakers, bought both for $200.00 an other than the glass, everything else seems in good shape for the age, the wood cabinets ect. They just were in a rented storage unit for many years. Ty

Good luck. How can you go wrong at that price?

I'd reach out to Audio Classics and see if they can source you a new glass. It will probably cost you another $200. Wish you great listening with your new gear!

In the winter of 1972 my audiophile wife and I bought a McIntosh MC 2105 amp and a MX 110 preamp/tuner from Lawrence HiFi in Birmingham, Alabama. The MX 110- is long since gone, but the Mc2105 is still playing in our son's house in the basement party room. I imagine it desperately needs to be re-capped, but it has never been serviced. I think it is a great commentary on McIntosh that after fifty-two years it is still playing music.

Hello, I'm Charles. I grew up in Decatur Alabama. My father and I made many trips to 5 Points where Laurence Hi-Fi was located. I remember Mr. Laurence very well. I owned a 2100 for years going through med school in Birmingham. His store was where I became acquainted with McIntosh and Bozak. Dad bought all his gear from Mr. Laurence.
