Bring a new analogue richness, depth and dynamic excitement to streamed music, with Network Acoustics eno2 Ethernet Filter

In 2020 Network Acoustics arrived with their market defining passive Ethernet Filter, the original eno. With an eno in your system, the music-obsessed founders, Rich and Rob, demonstrated that they were on their way to capturing the magical sound of their cherished vinyl in streamed music, but without the crackles and pops!

The all-new eno2 features an 8-core passive ethernet filter, meticulously designed to maximise the benefits of a
1Gb/s connection. This removes significantly more noise from the Ethernet signal than the original eno, and consequently improves on its performance in every way.

Comprehensive 8-core Noise Filtering
Featuring a version of Network Acoustics groundbreaking 1Gb/s filtering technology, first used in the muon Pro Ethernet filter, the eight-core filter system is housed in an aluminium enclosure that is precisely milled to the perfect thickness for optimal RFI/EMI shielding. Completing the package is the 1Gb/s eno2 Streaming Cable, designed with their latest noise-rejecting technology to ensure a clean connection between the filter and streamer.

“The overwhelming and often emotional feedback we received about the original eno showed us how much pleasure it brought to our customers' lives. It also had a profound effect on ours. It allowed us to turn a part-time passion project into a full-time endeavour, making Network Acoustics a reality. With eno2 we have stayed true to the values of the original while incorporating everything we’ve learned over the past four years. The result is an entirely new filter capable of delivering a sound our human ears crave: an analogue smoothness, richness, depth of tone, and dynamic excitement that is so hard to achieve with digitally sourced music.”

eno2 Highlights

Streaming sounds better at 1Gb/s:
The eno2 1Gb/s Ethernet Filter and Streaming Cable are meticulously designed to maximise the benefits of a 1Gb/s connection. While 100Mb/s designs can stream Hi-Res music without dropouts and simplify noise rejection, their extensive testing and critical listening conclusively showed that a 1Gb/s connection significantly improves sound quality.

Universally compatible: We are increasingly seeing new streaming equipment and audio related software being optimized to only work with a 1Gb/s connection. The eno2 Ethernet Filter and Streaming Cables ensure universal compatibility now and in the future.

Comprehensive 8-core filtering: the eno2 filter cleans all eight conductors in a standard Ethernet cable, whereas 100Mb/s filters only clean four, leaving the others untreated.

Tuned shield enclosure: Network Acoustics tested multiple grades and gauges of aluminium to develop an enclosure that provides the perfect level of RFI shielding without compromising the integrity of the output Ethernet signal.

1Gb/s eno2 Streaming Cable: Network Acoustics understand how important the final connection is between the filter and streamer, so every filter is supplied with a 0.75M length of their new eno2 Streaming Cable.

Engineered, hand assembled and individually tested in the UK: every eno2 Ethernet Filter and Streaming Cable is hand-built by Network Acoustics in the UK and individually tested against the original.

Thanks for the heads up! Looks like an interesting product.

The ENO has been a game changer for audio streaming and pioneered the industry. So exciting to see another milestone.

very interesting, should it filter the data network ?
i think it is time to design a router !!! we are all stuck with ISP routers !!!

I believe most audiophiles use their own router, not the modem/router from the internet service provider.

Doesn't seem there are many audiophile routers, though. I just use a TP-Link with a linear power supply and a couple of LAN filters..

maybe some (me) are forced to use the router provided by the ISP! Iliad forces you to use its router, you can at most set it as ONT!
then you should set up a second router that acts as a full router! it would be a good business if someone started introducing audiophile routers, JCAT is starting with its XACT S1, at most it could be set up as a router! a bit expensive but useful!

Couldn’t agree more. For instance I have a dedicated internet line, my router has only one port used. It’s a device for only music purposes. I’d appreciate so much to replace it with an audiophile router instead of the FritzBox! of the ISP.
This industry is considering more and more devices along the path during last years, filters and switches and power supplies and cables and DC wires. Why don’t we take care also of the router? Something able to work downstream the main router of the house (Taiko, SR already did it amongst others) but also a device able to act as the main router (ISP line IN > stereo system OUT).
We have dedicated lines and circuits and rods in the electrical part already as well!

The ISP router is definitely one of the biggest bottlenecks of performance in a digital HiFi system. Addressing this to considerably improve things will overall help - and I think some new innovations are happening in this field quite soon.

Yes, that's what to do. Set the ISP optical terminal to interface with the net and add your own router. Upgrade the power supplies on both. I would also recommend a LAN isolator between the router and switch to filter noise coming from the router..

I am not a tech expert at all, I would not know how to set up the optical terminal myself and the ISP told me that, by contract, they must be able to access the router, which in a sense means always depending on their approval/intervention.
In my case I would also need a router capable of accepting a GPON connection from the ISP's fiber line. To date I have not found any audiophile router (if any) capable of doing this.
I hope this industry will launch soon some devices easy to add to the chain, something more flexible and plug & play so to speak.

yes! that's what I'd like to do, but it's not easy! it's not enough to switch the ISP's router to ONT mode! then the new router will have to be digested, and it will have to be optimally configured, if only to make it work!

Jcat can run its Music/Server also as a router/switch!!! and it is an excellent product!!! not cheap unfortunately...
maybe the audio industries should design a single router with functions for us audiophiles at an acceptable cost, that does just that!!!

In the meantime on the advice of a WBF forumer (NaimYourTubes ) I bought a 3M adhesive film to counteract EMI/RFI electromagnetic interference the model AB7050HF. You can apply it on our audio gears like router, switch, mini PC, Nuc, nucleus... etc...!!!
i have yet to try it but i think it does a great job!

Thanks Gionaz, it is an example! Even if the server part is not needed when you already have one in your system and I don't see SFP ports (both as Input for GPON connection with the ISP and Output for the system). Anyway, I agree with you, this is the way with some more modularity and flexibility.

I tried them a few years ago. I bought 3 o4 papers (A4 size) to be cut on my needs. The risk is to over dampen the sound, be particularly aware to dose the quantity applied. After a few months of experimentation, I removed them all.

I would like to use them on the mini PC server. I think they also work well on routers and switches. Have you also tested them on small electronic devices like these?

Yep! Even applying on them small pieces 2x2 cms. And wrapping them around power cords (like little rings of 4 cms), too.
They can change the sound in effect. For the better? It depends.

It's not nearly as complicated as you fear. Your service provider can show you how to configure their device so that it only provides internet service. A new router won't need any configuring, it should pick up the routing function automatically.

unfortunately in Italian not always everything goes smoothly... The ISP does what it wants! It should be obliged to propose a router totally different from the one it provides you (Italian law requires it, it's called a free modem), but the one that the ISP proposes on its site, if you go and buy it then it will never work!!! there's no way to make it work!!! so those who have this operator called Iliad can at most and if they are lucky set the mandatory modem in ONT and hope to find the right configuration with the right type of router. obviously if you use for example a professional Mikrotik it will probably have all those settings that will be needed to make it compatible with the ONT, but you will have to tinker with it quite a bit without help from the ISP...

Sadly I have to confirm, that's the way it works in Italy, unfortunately.
