I have been told that in Europe, the use of meds for colonoscopy is MUCH less than in the US.
This is probably for a few reasons: hangups of Americans, Americans not willing to accept any discomfort and fast availability of meds to black out the procedure.
A colonoscopy really isn't a big deal. The real annoyance is the day before it.
