I guess Atmos users weren't happy with 4 overhead speakers so new processors demoed at CEDIA and are bumping it up to 6. It doesn't surprise me that people need more speakers using the atmos setup. How can a ceiling speaker match the dynamics of the traditional box speaker bed channels? I have always felt that the speaker you select for the height channels is more important than the codec and the rocket scinetists at dolby are just figuring that out. The poor early adopters that went Atmos now need to buy another processor, more speakers, and cut more holes in their ceiling or continue to live with a sub par system, not good.
