Paradigm S-1 Signature Speaker Review

As an aside and unrelated to Canadian made speakers, perhaps my favorite Canadian audio company is Ed Meitner's EMMLabs

Now you're talking! ...Ed, is he from Alberta?

...And he knows a thing or two about DACs. :)

And I'm not sure but I believe he is from the same camp as Bob Stuart regarding upsampling of multiples of 44.1 Khz.
Bob said that 88.2 Khz sampling rate is enough. And that 96 Khz is more complicated to implement mathematically.
Ed goes up to 352.8 Khz I think (multiples of 44.1 Khz).

* I wish there would be more recordings done at 88.2 Khz or 176.4 Khz.

** Paradigm Reference Signature speakers with internal DSP for Auto Room Correction & EQ with 88.2 Khz or 176.4 Khz sampling rate? One day ...

Hi Amir,

I like to "over amp" speakers. I also like to "over cable" speakers. If the speakers are well designed and well built, they always lead to enlightening and rewarding experiences.

Wait a minute. I trademarked "over amp." You have to come up with another phrase than "over cable." :D

Seriously, I guess that does go hand in hand at least in power handling department.

Sean, since both companies are privately held, we may never know the details of who now owns what share, but Thomson M&A described the transaction at the time as "Shoreview Industries acquired Paradigm Electronics Inc, a manufacturer of loud speakers, in a recapitalization leveraged buyout transaction", hence my OP.
Thanks for the clarification. Your OP sounds reasonable based on that press statement.
