Any recommendations for a power cord for a Studer A810? The issue with this deck is that the IEC inlet is vertical and this results on some strain put on the cord. I have thought about getting a right angle adapter but that would add 2 points of contact which can't be ideal.

The head block is wired out so the power is mainly for the motors and non-audio boards.

I am not sure what specifically you are looking for, but they do make many 90 deg IEC cords.

use the C13 sleeve. It's a $0.65 fix

Steve, that’s not the issue. I have a bag of those. The issue is that the cord has to bend since the outlet is below the deck and it puts a lot of strain on it.

I have a Chin Cheng in my A-810 and it has been there for years without a single issue.

If you do have an issue do what Mike Lavigne did. It's genius

I could add a support which would help.

I want something that is a heavier gauge than the Ching Chen since it would help with the motors. Thanks.

Is it a 2 or 3 prong IEC connection to the tape deck?
If it's a 3 prong IEC try Volex power cord #17504- cost about $9.50ea in the USA. Can be found online just enter Volex #17504 in the search. This is a straight power cord, no right angle. This is a molded power cord vs after market plug & cord separates.

I have a ReVox B77 MKII and it uses a 2 prong(connection to tape deck) same as for Tandberg. I got rid of my grey right angle 2 prong power cords long ago. I now have a straight power cords for my ReVox receiver & tape deck.

No worries.
I've been using the Volex #17504 on my McIntosh amps as well as my other components since 2010 with no issues whatsoever.
It will be adequate to power the A810 and then some.
